Luke Nicholson has created initial plans and mind maps for a technology magazine covering computer parts and accessories aimed at a younger male demographic. His mood board uses a consistent bright color scheme and font style that will influence the final magazine design. While also considering a recipe card or theater poster, Luke proposes a concept magazine reviewing products with help from friends in an informal proposal.
This document discusses important figures in the history of computing such as John Napier, Blaise Pascal, Gottfriend von Leibnitz, Joseph Marie Jacquard, Charles Babbage, Isaac Newton, and Lady Ada Byron. It notes their contributions like Napier's invention of logarithms, Pascal and Leibnitz's work on calculus, Jacquard's loom, Babbage's analytical engine, and Lady Ada's work programming the analytical engine.
This document discusses using misspelled keywords to optimize search engine optimization. It notes that 10% of search queries are misspelled, so targeting misspellings provides less competition. It recommends checking website logs and lists to find common misspellings, adding misspellings to user comments and a "commonly misspelled as" section, and registering misspelled domain names. However, it cautions that auto-correct and browsers may not benefit misspelling strategies much.

Charles I was the King of England who was executed in 1649 after being accused of murder, tyranny, and treason during the English Civil Wars. To determine if he would have been executed in 2012, one must understand who Charles I was, why he was executed in 1649, and whether the factors that led to his execution would still apply today. Key considerations include the structure of government, divisions of power between the monarch and parliament, and popular opinion regarding executive authority and people's rights.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
