            Mission San Miguel is located in
             Southern California. It is between
             Mission San Luis Obispo and
             Mission San Antonio
             It was the 16th mission founded in
             the chain of 21 California missions
The simple church was built on
1795, but partially destroyed by a fire
in 1806.

This current church was constructed in
1816 and completed in 1818.
                                          All the paintings inside the mission
                                          church were the original ones the
                                          Indians painted

   1836 – Mission San Miguel is secularized
   1859 – U.S. Government returns Mission to
    Church
   1928 – Mission is returned to Franciscans
   2003 – An earthquake damages church, and
    mission has to be closed to public for fixing
   Today – Mission now has a gift shop and museum
