This document discusses the planning and casting choices for a film trailer about twin siblings whose parents are murdered. It selects specific actors for their resemblance to the characters in terms of age and appearance. Locations are chosen for their realism in portraying scenes of a school setting, family home, interrogation room, and places for drug dealing and crying. Costumes and roles are assigned to enhance believability and fit with character details or the plot. The goal is to make the trailer seem realistic and relatable to their target audience through these casting and location decisions.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
3. Sophie - Chloe
We decided to use Sophie to
play the character of ‘Chloe’
because she has the right
image of how we want this
character to look. She is the
same age as Chloe’s character,
which will make our trailer
seem more realistic and
relatable to older teens who
are part of our target
audience.
4. Adam - Jason
We also decided to use Adam to
be in our trailer and play the
character of ‘Jason’ because he is
also has a good appearance of
how we want the character of
Jason to look like. He is also the
same age as the actual character
and as Sophie (Chloe), so they
will be more recognisable as the
twins in our trailer.
5. Kevin & Lisa – Martin &
Jackie (Parents of the twins)
We decided to use Kevin and Lisa as our actors for the parents of
the twins (Martin and Jackie) who will have been murdered at the
beginning. This is because they are also parents in real life so they
will be more believable as the characters they’re playing, therefore
making it more realistic.
6. Amy –
Young Chloe
Daniel –
Young Jason
We have chosen to use Amy to
play young Chloe. This is because
she is actually Sophie’s younger
sister and they look very similar,
so the audience will be able to tell
that she is the younger version of
Chloe during the flashback.
We have also chosen Daniel to play
the role of young Jason. This is
because he is a similar age to Amy
(young Chloe), so it will make it
seem more realistic and easy to
understand for the audience to
watch.
14. Sixth Form Common Room
We have decided to use the sixth
form common room as the first
setting we are going to use in
our film. This is where Chloe is
going to be sitting when the
teacher comes and gets her at
the beginning of our trailer. She
is going to be sitting here with
some friends.
15. Murder location
This is the location we are
going to use for the murder
scene of the twins parents. We
have chosen to use this
because it looks like a typical
family home, which makes it
seem more realistic. Martin
and Jackie will be sitting
either side of the table when
we film this scene.
16. Friend’s house
We have chosen to use this
location for the scene in our
trailer when Chloe is leaving her
friend’s house as she is crying.
She is going to drive away from
the house at the end of scene.
17. Alley Way
This is the location we are using to film
Jason’s drug dealing in because it is
stereotypically where this sort of thing
happens in real life, therefore it will
make our trailer seem more realistic to
the audience.
18. Interrogation Room
We are going to use this exam room
as the interrogation room we need
for the scenes in our trailer where
Jason is being questioned by the
police. We have chosen this location
because it is small and enclosed as
it actually looks like police
interrogation room, which will be
effective in making it look realistic.
19. Random shots
We are going to use a
variety of settings to film
the random shots in,
especially in enclosed
rooms/spaces. This is
because using lots of
different shots quickly will
build up the tension and
add to the mystery of the
plotline. We want to use
small rooms because it will
be more effective in
making it more dramatic,
therefore living up to the
conventions of genre we
are doing.
