The National Library of Belarus opened in 2006. It has a floor space of 113,669 square meters including a depository that can hold 14 million items. The library contains over 8.4 million items in more than 50 languages, including important early printed works from Belarus. It was designed by architects M.K.Vinogradov and V.V.Kramarenko and took three years to construct.
