Information in the following presentation that relates to Exploration Results, Mineral Resources or Ore Reserves is based on
information compiled by Dr A. P. Belperio, who is a Director and full-time employee of the Company and a Fellow of the
Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Dr A. P. Belperio has a minimum of 5 years experience, which is relevant to the
style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity that he is undertaking, to qualify as a Competent
Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the “Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore
Reserves”. Dr A. P. Belperio consents to inclusion in the presentation of matters based on his information in the form and context
 in which it appears.
Iron ore mining in Australia

    1. Where did iron ore mining initiate in Australia?
    2. Where do you now associate with iron ore mining?
    3. Where do you need to focus now?
Minotaur’s iron project – where might it be?

 1. The origin of iron ore mining in Australia:
the Middleback ranges, 40km west of Whyalla, South Australia
    (think „Iron Knob, „Iron Monarch‟, „Iron Baron‟)
 2. Mining in Western Australia:
large scale, bulk tonnage, both DSO and beneficiated
 3. Australia‟s new, emerging iron ore province:
    The ‘Braemar’ in SA
The Braemar: Australia‟s next big Fe province

The Braemar Iron Formation is a major regional geological feature that extends about 250km
                                 southwest, from near Broken Hill.
Shown here as the red colour, representing the high magnetic intensity rocks in the regional TMI
image which, even at this scale, clearly indicates their extensive size and distribution.

Significant Magnetite deposits on the Braemar Iron Formation sit astride the main East-West, heavy-
duty, continental rail line, and all are within about 45km of the rail corridor.
The Braemar: Australia‟s next big Fe province

a significant regional sequence of highly magnetised sediments containing the magnetite form of iron
Heavy duty rail link 300km to Port Pirie, now with 10Mtpa spare capacity, and upgradeable
Braemar Ironstones: the potential scope

The term "Exploration Target" should not be misconstrued as an estimate of Mineral Resources and Reserves as defined by
the JORC Code (2004), and the term has not been used in that context. It is uncertain if further exploration will result in the
determination of a regional Mineral Resource of the magnitude suggested in this presentation – see next slide.
Refer Cl 18 of the JORC Code (2004).
Braemar Ironstones: the potential scope

Industry‟s consensus view is that potentially up to 40
billion tonnes of in-situ magnetite could be defined by
future exploration („Exploration Target‟ - refer disclaimer on
                                                          previous slide)

Assume only 50% or ~20 billion tonnes of mineable
                                                          magnetite ore can be defined
scope for say 5 pits mining 50 Mtpa ore and
beneficiating 10 Mtpa of concentrate each

  • 1. Proactive Investors, Sydney 18 May 2011 Andrew Woskett, Managing Director Minotaur Exploration Limited ACN: 108 483 601 ASX: MEP
  • 2. Disclaimer & CP Statement This presentation has been prepared by the management of Minotaur Exploration Limited (ASX: MEP) for the general benefit of analysts, brokers and investors and does not constitute specific advice to any particular party or persons. Information herein is based on publicly available information, internally developed data and other sources. Where an opinion, projection or forward looking statement is expressed in this presentation, it is based on the assumptions and limitations mentioned herein and is an expression of present opinion only. No warranties or representations are made or implied as to origin, validity, accuracy, completeness, currency or reliability of the information. MEP specifically disclaims and excludes all liability (to the extent permitted by law) for losses, claims, damages, demands, costs and expenses of whatever nature arising in any way out of or in connection with the information, its accuracy, completeness or by reason of reliance by any person on any of it. Where MEP expresses or implies an expectation or belief as to the success of future exploration and the economic viability of future project evaluations, such expectation or belief is expressed in good faith and is believed to have a reasonable basis. However, such projected outcomes are subject to risks, uncertainties and other factors which could cause actual results to differ materially from projected future results. Such risks include, but are not limited to, exploration success, metal price volatility, changes to current mineral resource estimates or targets, changes to assumptions for capital and operating costs as well as political and operational risks and government regulatory outcomes. MEP disclaims any obligation to advise any person if it becomes aware of any inaccuracy in or omission from any forecast or to update such forecast. Information in the following presentation that relates to Exploration Results, Mineral Resources or Ore Reserves is based on information compiled by Dr A. P. Belperio, who is a Director and full-time employee of the Company and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Dr A. P. Belperio has a minimum of 5 years experience, which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity that he is undertaking, to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the “Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves”. Dr A. P. Belperio consents to inclusion in the presentation of matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears.
  • 3. Iron ore mining in Australia 1. Where did iron ore mining initiate in Australia? 2. Where do you now associate with iron ore mining? 3. Where do you need to focus now?
  • 4. Minotaur’s iron project – where might it be? 1. The origin of iron ore mining in Australia: the Middleback ranges, 40km west of Whyalla, South Australia (think „Iron Knob, „Iron Monarch‟, „Iron Baron‟) 2. Mining in Western Australia: large scale, bulk tonnage, both DSO and beneficiated 3. Australia‟s new, emerging iron ore province: The ‘Braemar’ in SA
  • 5. The Braemar: Australia‟s next big Fe province The Braemar Iron Formation is a major regional geological feature that extends about 250km southwest, from near Broken Hill. Shown here as the red colour, representing the high magnetic intensity rocks in the regional TMI image which, even at this scale, clearly indicates their extensive size and distribution. Significant Magnetite deposits on the Braemar Iron Formation sit astride the main East-West, heavy- duty, continental rail line, and all are within about 45km of the rail corridor.
  • 6. The Braemar: Australia‟s next big Fe province a significant regional sequence of highly magnetised sediments containing the magnetite form of iron Heavy duty rail link 300km to Port Pirie, now with 10Mtpa spare capacity, and upgradeable
  • 7. Braemar Ironstones: the potential scope The term "Exploration Target" should not be misconstrued as an estimate of Mineral Resources and Reserves as defined by the JORC Code (2004), and the term has not been used in that context. It is uncertain if further exploration will result in the determination of a regional Mineral Resource of the magnitude suggested in this presentation – see next slide. Refer Cl 18 of the JORC Code (2004).
  • 8. Braemar Ironstones: the potential scope Industry‟s consensus view is that potentially up to 40 billion tonnes of in-situ magnetite could be defined by future exploration („Exploration Target‟ - refer disclaimer on previous slide) Assume only 50% or ~20 billion tonnes of mineable magnetite ore can be defined scope for say 5 pits mining 50 Mtpa ore and beneficiating 10 Mtpa of concentrate each suggests total regional output of 50 Mtpa of magnetite concentrate gives a foreseeable 150 year regional life of mining @ nominal 250 Mtpa ore mining rate Producing high-quality Blast Furnace feedstock magnetite concentrates grading 65% - 70% Fe content
  • 9. Mutooroo Magnetite deposits on the Braemar Mutooroo Magnetite is part of the „Border‟ contributing Joint Venture between Sumitomo Metals Mining Oceania (59.1%) and Minotaur Exploration (40.9%). Minotaur is JV manager & operator. JV budget for 2011 is $6M. Mutooroo Station is just 500km from Adelaide
