Turkey has a diverse culture that varies by region. Some traditional dances include the Horon of the Black Sea region, featuring fast footwork, and the Kaşık Oyunu spoon dance of central Anatolia. Islam is the dominant religion, with around 75% of the population being Sunni Muslim and 20% Shi'a Muslim. While Turkey has a predominantly Muslim culture, it underwent westernization in the early 20th century and its largest cities have a more modern culture. Turkish food and culture have also spread to parts of Europe through Turkish immigrant communities, especially in Germany which has around 3 million Turkish residents.
