OneDrive started as Windows Live Folders in 2007, providing limited beta access in the US. It expanded to the UK and India that year and was renamed Windows Live SkyDrive. By 2008, it was available in 38 countries and increased free storage from 5GB to 25GB. OneDrive allows users to sync and access files from any device via a web browser. It provides free storage that was reduced from 15GB to 5GB in 2016, though some users retained the higher limit. OneDrive is part of Microsoft's online services suite and allows public or private sharing of files.
