Michael Bollhoefer One Pager
1. Michael Bollhoefer has been involved with the planning, design,
architecture, development, and sales of small, medium, and large farm
implementations of Microsoft Office SharePoint in versions 2003, 2007,
2010, 2013 and Office365 for companies ranging from 10 users to
deployments of over 80,000 users. Whereas most people focus on either
business or technology, he has spent over a decade working directly with
users to bridge the gap between IT and the business. He focuses on
increasing business value, productivity, findability, and satisfaction through
the use of business process and technology throughout client’s entire
organizations. His solutions and direction can be attributed directly in the reduction of cost,
system down time, and manual processes while increasing user adoption and business value at
over 40 companies. His solutions allow the business to focus on their jobs, improving company
and shareholder value, and keep them focused innovating new intellectual capital, assets, and
profits. Through deep understanding, vast experience, and utilization of best in class
technological solutions and business processes, his expertise is unparalleled in the industry.
From 2007 – 13, Michael was involved as the lead developer on ConocoPhillips’ Knowledge
Sharing Platform. It is here where he worked with a multinational team of knowledge
management experts to develop best practices, world class business processes, and the
standardization of a knowledge management platform that created $100s of millions of estimated
cash flow. Key portions of the system allowed for global networks of excellence within the
company to collaborate on business critical discussions that transcended the barriers of
traditional business function and departmentalization allowing for interdepartmental and cross
functional sharing of business critical information and knowledge worldwide.
Michael also took this expertise to Champion Technologies where he took again took the lead
developer role of building out their knowledge management platform as well. Utilizing best in
class expertise he again helped transform and shape the knowledge management landscape of a
multibillion dollar company by documenting $100s of millions of estimated cash flow
improvements within the company. During this process he also facilitated the integration of a
corporate merger with NALCO an Ecolab Company. This newly formed company, called
NALCO Champion an Ecolab Company, brought two disparate knowledge management
platforms under one single platform allowing for the standardization and union of two disparate
companies. This integration was tantamount in helping the newly formed company bridge
globally distributed knowledge into a single sharing platform company wide.
Throughout his ten year career he has also had the distinguished opportunity to work with
multiple domestic and multinational corporations. He has been involved in every facet of
SharePoint deployments including intranet development, information architecture, farm
architecture design, development, and deployment, upgrade and migrations of every single
version of SharePoint, extranet development, public internet web content management systems,
and more. This has also been complemented with multiple maintenance, health analyzation, and
patching and upgrade contracts making Michael a rare cross functional technical expert that
understands not only solution architecture, design and development, but also farm
implementation, administration, and server level maintenance. This rare set of skills allows him
to partner with front end developers and designers and back end server administration and
2. architecture to help bridge a key disconnect among many it organizations. Extending this
knowledge to work directly with key business stakeholders allows him to further bridge the gap
between the business and IT within organizations by translating business requirements into
technological solutions allowing both sides of any company to focus on their portion of the
project without getting lost in translation.
