Max H Hinkins is a highly ambitious and hard working recent high school graduate from Essex, England who is interested in pursuing a career in finance. PERSONAL STATEMENT:
I believe myself to be highly dependable and hard working. I have been told by my peers, friends
and teachers that I have fantastic interpersonal skills and can talk to anyone without feeling out of
my depth. This has been enhanced by my mentoring duties when I have to had to have meetings
with teachers, parents and my student mentees – these have put me under pressure where I have
to be both compassionate as well as a leader in setting the right example. I am highly ambitious
and will aim high in everything that I do whilst working hard to gain the respect of my fellow
colleagues. My work experience in the City has inspired me to aim high!

Ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times for this smart eating establishment.
Taking orders, communicating with the kitchen, running the Pass, serving orders and drinks to
customers. We have provided covers for over 100 customers in a single evening, which requires
attention to detail, working at a fast but professional pace, remaining calm and polite under
pressure with a “constant smile on my face”.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Panmure Gordon (UK) Ltd., One New Change, London EC4M 9AF – 1 week
reporting to Mr David Buik, Market Commentator
After spending a day with David Buik learning about the City and Money Markets I spent time with
the Traders on the floor, learning the rules of trading, i.e. when and how to trade and how stocks
change. Involved in swapping shares between large companies, working out the best percentage
yield to swap with and ordering and calculating the right dates to trade in line with the rules of
trading. Also spent time with the Corporate Finance team learning how to raise finance for
companies as well about Corporate Broking.
Thomas Miller, Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 4ST – July 2013 – 1 week
reporting to Mr Stuart Munro, Director of Shipping Insurance
Sourced myself – primary responsibility was to check the IMD reference numbers for terrorists and
banned companies on the Company’s bespoke IT system. I also had to audit and remove
outdated files.
Visit to Lloyds of London – I was told this had personally been arranged by the Director because of
my enquiring and ambitious mind! I have been asked to return during subsequent holiday periods.
My first taste of City life has inspired me greatly and has cemented my ambition to work within the
financial sector
