This letter confirms that Umair Iqbal was a Discovery Week assistant for
Discovery Week 2012. He completed a total of 25 hours as an assistant.
The main duties involved in being a Discovery Week Assistant include:
 Ensure that all new local commuter and international early arrival students
to the University have an enjoyable and welcoming experience during their
first week at the University.
 Run events, such as the Scavenger Hunt, Discovery Week Welcome Day and
Club Night at the Edge.
 Be a first point of contact with the university to provide help with queries,
directions and signpost other services that may be able to help.
He completed his work in a professional nature and developed a number of
transferable skills which will make him more employable in the future.
