Melrose Abbey Tour Guides   Melrose Primary School Primary 6 classes are currently running a project to provide Guided Tours of Melrose Abbey. This project is being performed in conjunction with Historic Scotland as part of Historic Scotland’s Early Years and Primary Schools Activity Programme. These activities are planned and devised with the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence in mind. They are designed to support a range of classroom studies, providing cross-curricular, engaging learning opportunities to help pupils develop as confident individuals, successful learners, responsible citizens and effective contributors.     
Melrose Abbey Tour Guides   Enterprising Pupil led Wide community involvement Exciting and innovative Entrepreneurial / work related ‘ selling their services’ Run as a business  ‘ I have seen this project develop confidence and self esteem in pupils in an exceptional way’  A visitor at the launch  
Twenty primary six pupils from Melrose Primary School completed their training and delivered tours to invited guests. In the future, their audiences will be other school children. Other pupils have been involved with various aspects to support the scheme include marketing, media and hospitality. The current group of Junior Tour Guides will pass on their skills by training P5 pupils who will take over next year.
