This document summarizes the results of a survey about radio listening habits. It asked people their age, gender, favorite radio station, where they listen, and why. The majority of respondents were ages 11-20 and listened to Capital Radio. Most people listened in their cars. Over 70% listened for the music rather than news or other content.

I asked a range of people their ages to find out if the radio station they listen to is within
their targetmarketrange for example 60%is aged between11-20 and the majority listen to
capital radio.
I asked more female people than male people to give an idea at what radio station women
are going to listen too, as well as asking male people what they might listen to as well.
46% of the people I asked listened to capitalFM which shows not all of its target audience
are listening to capital but another radio station.

73% of people I asked listened to the radio because of the music, they are not interested in
weather updates and newsbutthe songsthatare broadcasted, and this may be to brightenup
their day for example.
Many people listen to the radio in the car (maybe on the way to work, etc.) about 73% do
however nobody I asked used the internet to listen to radio showing that people are more
likely to use their car than the internet.
