 The song I have chosen is ‘Dressed in Black’
from Sia’s 2014 album 1000 Forms of Fear.
 The genre is classified as pop since the song
has upbeat and low beat instrumental track.
 Sia is known for disguising herself in
performance to focus on her vocals.
 Maddie Ziegler from Dance Moms who uses
expressive dance to represent Sia as a child.

character I want my
performer portray.
Video Concept
 Darkness and keeping the video to black and white filters and low key lighting. This will
give the “mysterious” effect to the music video.
 From the Dressed in Black fan video I will shoot my music videos on the streets and
use street lighting to create a mysterious effect.
 Sia’s music videos uses anonymity of the performer using disguises to break eye
contact to create enigma. In my music video I hope to incorporate this to go with
tradition. Going against the pop music conventions.
 Using a variety of camera shots and angles to create a flowing music video and to
emphasise the performer’s actions.
Target Audience
 The main target audience of this music video is to focus on
young adults from 17 – 25 since the concept of the video could
be sensitive to younger people.

Song Choice  The song I have chosen is ‘Dressed in Black’ from Sia’s 2014 album 1000 Forms of Fear.  The genre is classified as pop since the song has upbeat and low beat instrumental track.  Sia is known for disguising herself in performance to focus on her vocals.  Maddie Ziegler from Dance Moms who uses expressive dance to represent Sia as a child. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVLNTMFScb8

Video Influences • Video influences have used a variety of shots to demonstrate the performers actions • Dark lighting using green/blue filters to create a gritty effect. • Uses anonymity at the beginning. • Then slightly reveals identity towards the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVLNTMFScb8 •This video portrays the issues in a realistic way making the narrative more believable. •The narrative of my music video is about a girl who is off the rails being reckless and pushing every boundary to destruction.

Influences Ed Sheeran – A Team https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAWcs 5H-qgQ Iconic for her battle with alcohol/drug addiction and the many times she has been through rehabilitation for other mental health issues related to addiction. Effy from skins is the type of character I want my performer portray.
  • 7. Video Concept  Darkness and keeping the video to black and white filters and low key lighting. This will give the “mysterious” effect to the music video.  From the Dressed in Black fan video I will shoot my music videos on the streets and use street lighting to create a mysterious effect.  Sia’s music videos uses anonymity of the performer using disguises to break eye contact to create enigma. In my music video I hope to incorporate this to go with tradition. Going against the pop music conventions.  Using a variety of camera shots and angles to create a flowing music video and to emphasise the performer’s actions.
  • 8. Target Audience  The main target audience of this music video is to focus on young adults from 17 – 25 since the concept of the video could be sensitive to younger people.

  1. The artist who wrote the song is known for her songs about substance abuse and is open about her drug addictions.
  2. The concept of my music video is alcoholism and the damage which comes with destructive behaviours, since the music video is covering such a sensitive topic the concept will help spread awareness to these 'invisible' problems.
