 AssetAnalytics - A comprehensive portfolio development, tracking, and
optimization system. This serves as a back-office, middle-office and front-office
tool for optimal investment management for corporate investors.
Technology: Data Warehousing and On-Line-Analytical-Processing with Oracle 9i,

 Strategy Design 2000: A supercomputing-based Decision Support System for Data
Mining applications in equities and derivatives trading.
Technology: This is a multi-user system with clients/server architecture. Clients are
Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and Server is PARAM 10000, a cluster of SUN UltraSparc
nodes connected with Fast EtherNet, Myrinet and PARAMnet (a proprietary switch). The
supercomputing cluster acts as the database server and the computational engine. The
system houses Terabytes of 5 to 10 years’ of price/volume data of stocks traded in NYSE.
This also serves as a framework enabling traders to write their proprietary trading
strategies and test them on the historical data for their robustness and profitability in
different time zones and market scenarios. APIs were provided to the users encapsulating
the financial domain functions and operations.

Parent companies of the research subsidiary are Drapeau Advisory Inc., USA and ED &
F MAN of UK. They are Hedge funds with clients spread all over the world
 CyberProfit: A financial trading simulator for profit optimization in trading of
financial instruments such as bonds, stocks etc.
Technology: LAN-based system with client-server architecture. The main objective is to
train corporate personnel on market concepts by keeping a trail of market events. The s/w
provides for canned on-line quotes, on-line technical analysis, news flashes, electronic
talk, money market information. This helps the users in taking profitable decisions as
regards market timing in financial instruments trading such as bonds, stocks etc.

 A library of technical indicators and financial strategies for forecasting market
movement and maximizing profits
All major Technical Indicators were coded and no. of trading strategies based on these
indicators were developed. These strategies were executed on historical data of stocks
traded in NYSE. Extensive reports were generated elaborating P/L, maximum drawdown.
The reports also generated buy-sell signals, which could act as input for Neural Network
models.

on-line-analytical-processing with the capability of forecasting, planning, monitoring

 Mobile: Optimal Resource Scheduling for profit maximization
Developed an optimal resource scheduling decision support system "MOBILE" for
profit maximization and operational cost minimization for clients in Logistics/Transport
industry.
Technique: Model used is a digraph and the solution aims at finding the number of
minimal unilateral components into which the digraph can be decomposed under certain
operational constraints.

Telecom Industry
Developed an on-line-transaction-processing system for rural and urban telephone billing
for a telecom client.
On-line Urban Billing with subscriber Base around .3 millions, .15 million Bills
generated per month, no. of Exchanges involved 28, bills generated about 4 millions and
revenue billed about Rs.85 million.
On-line Rural Billing with subscriber base around 40,000, 20,000 bills per month and
no. of exchanges involved 118.

Initiated Process improvement program in the organization as part of the Quality
Management System. Headed the SEPG group and was the chief architect in defining
CMM Processes in line with mission/business goals of the organization. Instrumental in
creating CMM awareness, imparting process training in the organization and further
implementing the processes at multi-locational sites.

My major contribution to the group is in changing the image of the group from a
distributor of third party s/w to a R&D lab generating IPR and developing business.
As a head of GSDG did mentoring of the members for defining processes, chalking out a
road map, consultancy in project proposals etc. The group has transited into R&D
activities rather than selling third party products. Thus have added the much needed
research component to the group activities by planning, managing and getting funds for
R&D activities.

 Comprehensive Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS) for Bodoland Territorial
Council (BTC)
 Near-Real Time Flood Monitoring in the Brahmaputra Valley using Microwave
Remote Sensing: The objectives are analysing Microwave Remote Sensing data for near real
time monitoring of floods and its extent in a pilot study area, and developing a system for
processing Microwave RS data and deriving flood related information for the end user in real
response time.
 Multicriteria spatial modeling for identification of potential
Afforestation/Reforestation sites for claiming ‘carbon credits’ and analysis of futuristic
landuse dynamics: The project aims at using chronological satellite data and other
ancillary information for development of multi-criteria spatial model for identification of
potential sites for Aforestation/Reforestation activities and fine tuning of same using fine
resolution data to improve accuracy.

 “Dining Philosophers” addressing deadlock problem in parallel architectures

vertices in a given graph with applications in computational chemistry, mathematics

on hill climbing technique
 Linear Programming model using simplex method as an optimization technique for

Technology: Data Warehousing and On-Line-Analytical-Processing with Oracle 9i, Oracle 9i AS, Oracle Discoverer Client: State Investment Corporation, Mauritius  Strategy Design 2000: A supercomputing-based Decision Support System for Data Mining applications in equities and derivatives trading. Technology: This is a multi-user system with clients/server architecture. Clients are Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and Server is PARAM 10000, a cluster of SUN UltraSparc nodes connected with Fast EtherNet, Myrinet and PARAMnet (a proprietary switch). The supercomputing cluster acts as the database server and the computational engine. The system houses Terabytes of 5 to 10 years’ of price/volume data of stocks traded in NYSE. This also serves as a framework enabling traders to write their proprietary trading strategies and test them on the historical data for their robustness and profitability in different time zones and market scenarios. APIs were provided to the users encapsulating the financial domain functions and operations.

On-line Urban Billing with subscriber Base around .3 millions, .15 million Bills generated per month, no. of Exchanges involved 28, bills generated about 4 millions and revenue billed about Rs.85 million.
