2. Who?
• Many of the bands that I listen to have a similar sound and most
come from the genres of Rock or Indie. Bands and musicians I am
particularly interested in and listen to, include: Oasis, The Stone
Roses , Ocean colour Scene, the Libertines, Feeder, The Arctic
Monkeys, Viva Brother, Jamie T, The Kooks, the Killers, The Red Hot
Chili Peppers, Blink-182, Sum-41, Greenday, Linkin park, Guns „n‟
Roses, Jimi Hendrix and many more.
3. What?
• When asked what I actually consume as a listener to
music, I would say that I purchase merchandise such as
CD‟s, gig tickets, posters and T-shirts, but also less
directly as my household subscribes to music packages
on T.V and so music channels are also a means of
consuming the music.
4. When?
• I would argue that I listen to music frequently for example
when I wake up in the mornings, when I am alone in my
house , at social events with my friends (parties), and
when I am walking to and from places. However I would
also argue that I listen to much more music when I am
alone as it doesn‟t effect conversation, and when with
groups of people music will less frequently be played.
5. Where?
• As previously mentioned I frequently listen to
music in my own bedroom, but also anywhere in
the house, at school, at work via the store radio,
at parties, at friends houses, and also in the car.
6. Why?
• I enjoy listening to music as I enjoy to admire the artistic
works of the musicians. As I play guitar I believe I am able
to appreciate the difficulty in certain songs and admire
other features such as lyrics, rhythm, and even the
attitude the band possess. Reasons such as this are
possibly why I steer away from music genres such as
R‟n‟B and Pop, as they involve less instrumental ability,
however in certain cases I can find myself to enjoy them
too, as they might be a means to enhance my feelings or
even give me a mental “buzz”
7. How?
• I consume music in a large variety of ways from listening
to CD‟s, my own iTunes, YouTube, stereo, radio, my
phone, mp3 player, iPods, television, live concerts, and
even when those around me or I myself sing.
