Section 3: General questions

What is your motivation in applying for MCP? How does this experience align with your future plans?
To build AIESEC Uganda and its members

What personal and professional characteristics do you display that would make you suitable as MCP of AIESEC
Uganda?
Personal

I am steadfast and even paced.

I believe in taking an active role in my development and the development of others.

Professional

I am results oriented

I believe in achieving results as a contribution to success

Describe an experience when you made a wrong decision. What did you learn from the experience?

I created a team and then failed to motivate them.

The lesson learnt is that motivation is an important tool in achieving success. Defining roles to members as
well as encouraging them is important.

What has been your contribution to the current state of your LC/MC?

I have been giving support in exchange and talent management in the different LCs, helping out in other
areas of LC development as well.

What is the relevance of an AIESEC Experience in Uganda?

To build AIESEC Uganda and to build myself as an individual

                                       www.aiesec.org/uganda
The primary role of an MCP is to lead and manage a high performing team. What is your leadership style? What do
you believe will be the strengths and potential pitfalls of applying this style to your MC team?
My leadership style is taking a contributive approach

The strengths of applying this approach is the shared energy and synergy within the team.

Strengthening the strengths as well as managing the weaknesses

The pitfalls of this approach is that decision making is slowed down as everyone’s contribution has to be
considered

Identify three key trends that are affecting Uganda and explain how those trends are influencing AIESEC in Uganda’s
contribution, structures and processes?

The Global financial crisis:

This has led to the restructuring and resizing of companies hence led to the reduction of exchange numbers.

AIESEC brand identity:

AIESEC in Uganda is not known, it’s not clear. It is not known as exchange based. Members have little
information about exchange and its related opportunities.

Alumni engagement

There are few activities which engage the alumni and the organization, improving this relationship is
important for the organizational growth, as they will be encouraged to support it.

What do you see as AIESEC Uganda’s critical area(s) of success in the coming 2 years?

AIESEC expansion in more LC’s.

This has been important as more manpower will be injected into the organization hence more member
development.

Strong University support and presence

We get a lot of support in the universities as we are well known and respected by the universities.

                                       www.aiesec.org/uganda
What role should AIESEC Uganda play in the International Network and the African GN by the end of 2010? What
should we do to get to that point?

More contribution in Issue Based projects

Brand AIESEC Uganda as an important internship experience destination
