MAX is a HL7 project that defines a format called Models XML (MAX) for exchanging model information between tools in a compatible way with spreadsheets. MAX allows importing and exporting of models, validation, transformation and editing of model parts directly in spreadsheets. It is currently being used for EHR architecture modeling and validation of clinical models. MAX also defines how to transform FHIR resources and profiles to and from UML models.
