1. Growing up has its own difficulties in relation to relationships and how the wider world affects you. When other
factors are involved such as racial discrimination (To Kill a Mocking Bird) or divorce (Boyhood). We see
children struggling to understand with their world and learning how best to cope. The similarity between the
children is they are both young and have been put into difficult circumstances involving highly strung emotion,
that comes from outside influences. A common factor in both films is the emotion of anger and loss. The
emotion involved in both films show how their adults in their world deal with their circumstances and this
greatly influences how the children will perceive relationships around them. Factors are racial discrimination
(To kill a mocking bird) all anger and upset and the emotional drama that goes with that subject. With a
divorced family (Boyhood) the factors of the theme is going through divorce, seeing broken relationships,
being influenced by different men for a short period of tim and their values, this would result in a lot of
confusion.
