Abuse at home Sibling rivalry Any disagreement at home Violence at home Jealousy of others at home Someone forcing someone else to do something they don’t want to do Varied opinions over chores What is family conflict?
How is family conflict caused? A parent not letting a child do something they want to do Drug taking Different opinions over homework Over-drinking of alcohol  People disagreeing on an issue
How does family conflict affect people’s lives? It can cause stress and tension It can make people feel insecure/unsafe in their own house It can possibly cause depression for serious situations It could lead to a family member running away It can cause injury (from abuse)
What are peaceful ways to solve family conflict? By wanting to solve it, not trying to win Sitting down with other person and talking in calm voices Using “I” statements Not making comparisons Compromising Calling help-line for serious situations Not leaving a disagreement unresolved
