MATH CENTER

Step 1: Reread the story “The Biggest Nose”.
Step 2: On a piece of butcher paper draw a start line
on one end.
Step 3: Estimate how far you think the nose will
walk when you wind it twice, six times, and ten
times. Record your answers.
Step 4: Wind up the nose twice, and put it on the
start line. Let it walk. Once it stops, MARK WHERE
IT STOPS.
Step 5: Measure in inches how far the nose walked
from the start line to the final mark. Then measure it
in centimeters, and record your answers.
Step 6: Wind up the nose six times, and put it on the
start line. Let it walk. Once it stops, MARK WHERE
IT STOPS.
Step 7: Measure in inches how far the nose walked.
Then measure it in centimeters, and record your
answers.
Step 9: Wind up the nose ten times, and put it on the
start line. Let it walk. Once it stops, MARK WHERE
IT STOPS.
Step 10: Once it stops measure in inches how far the
nose walked. Then measure it in centimeters, and
record your answers.
Step 11: Answer question number seven.
