MathExcel is a program at the University of Kentucky that provides additional support for students taking Calculus I and II. It includes small group workshops with problems solving in addition to the regular lectures. Students receive more personalized attention to develop skills needed for success in Calculus. Data shows students in MathExcel have higher grades and lower withdrawal rates compared to students in regular Calculus sections. Former students say the extra practice and help from teaching assistants was invaluable and created a supportive community for learning.

sure to change sections or drop BOTH MA 113
and MA 193.

 FastTrack--a week before the start of the
semester to review mathematics in preparation for
calculus. See http://www.as.uky.edu/fasttrack
 Some students who earn credit for Calculus I or II
by an AP exam choose to take Calculus I or II,
even though they have credit. Others, choose to
begin in Calculus III. Calculus III Honors, MA 213
017 and 018 is an option for students who earn a
strong AP score (4-5 on BC) and choose to begin
in Calculus III. Contact your adviser after you
receive AP scores.
