MASTER’S IN EDUCATION
I was born in a suburb area in India. As a son of a construction worker, education is as
precious as a diamond. Living with four siblings, my dream of finishing high school is like living
in a five-star hotel room. Even if my mother already told me that I should stop going to school to
give way to my eldest brother to finish college, I still went on despite their disapproval. Because
our family scarcely survived with the basic food necessities, I looked for part-time jobs in order
to continue my studies. After two to three months of adjustment in working in the construction
site, where I was allowed to work, I have soon been able to assist my father with other
expenses at home. Aside from being able to continue my studies, I finally got the approval of my
parents to continue what I have been dreaming of – to finish school which can open an
opportunity to land a decent, office job.
The most rewarding job that I can think of is being a teacher. Aside from class room
discussions, I plan to mentor intelligent and persevering students who may have the same
economic background like me. I also plan to work as a private tutor for students who are
unfortunate of enrolling to schools. Although basic education is free in our country, achieving
college degree and higher education is a privilege for those who can financially sustain it. This is
the reason why I want to be part of such discipline. I would like to help children who are willing
to go to school but can’t, due to poverty. And I do not just plan to give my time – I plan to teach
through the most quality education possible. I plan to make the most out of this practice in order
to inspire others – that poverty should not be a hindrance towards the achievements of dreams.
And I can only achieve such quality if I further myself first by education. I plan to take up a
Master’s degree on the next school year and based on strategic location of XX University in
Delhi, not setting aside its quality output, well-designed curriculum and professional
opportunities, I think it is the best choice for a higher education. It would be such an honor to get
admitted in such reputable institution.
