This status report discusses research conducted through customer comment cards and focus groups to understand preferences for entertainment establishments like sports bars. Comment card results from a convenience sample were consistent but lacked quantitative data. Focus groups were then administered with students in quota samples to discuss topics like interests in bars and sports bars, with common responses found around atmosphere, food and TV quality. The implications are that while initial feedback was limited, focus groups provided more nuanced qualitative insights into customer preferences.
