This document discusses caring for those with dementia through creative imagining. It describes how dementia is often seen as a progressive brain disease but that there may be other ways to understand it from a social science perspective. Person-centered care that sees the individual person and respects their humanity is important. The culture of care for those with dementia is shifting from seeing them as problems to care that focuses on their well-being as people. Creative imagining of people's lives, relationships and beliefs can help provide truly person-centered care and a future transformed through respect and relationship.
