Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and state Republican lawmakers have reached an agreement when it comes to the state’s budget. The deal has more money for schools and rural broadband, and also pays off $1 billion in debt.

American Viewpoint, a nationally recognized public opinion research company conducted
a survey of 800 registered voters in Indiana for the House Republican Campaign
Committee.
For each survey, a random sample of registered voters was purchased.
All interviews were conducted by telephone using a computer assisted telephone
interviewing system, meaning that respondents were randomly selected by computer.
The survey was conducted March 20, 21 and 22, 2011.
Geographic and gender quotas were provided to the phone center to ensure all areas of
the State were proportionally represented.
Once interviewing was completed, the data was weighted to geography, gender, age and
race.
The margin of error for each study is plus or minus 3.5%.

deficit across the state including 61% disapproval in Indianapolis, 60% job disapproval in the south and 59% job disapproval in South Bend. Men and women are split on
Republicans while Democrats face a 28% deficit with men and 24% deficit with women. Democrats face a deficit with all age groups including 63% disapproval among those 41

5. 66% of voters disapprove of Democrats leaving the state to avoid voting, including majorities in every region of the state.
Men and women disapprove as do majorities of all age groups. 94% of Republicans disapprove as do 65% of
Independents. 57% of Democrats approve. 69% of generic ballot undecided voters disapprove.
As you may know, Democratic members of the Indiana House of Representatives have left the state and
staying in a hotel in Illinois to avoid voting on several pieces of legislation they disagree with. This action
has stopped all action in the House of Representatives because without 67 Members in attendance, the
House does not have a quorum and cannot conduct any business. Do you approve or disapprove of the
actions of the Democrats in the House of Representatives?

6. 52% of these voters are less likely to vote to re-elect their State Representative if they learned the Representative had
participated in this walkout. Majorities in Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne and the southern part of the state are less likely. 48% of
men and 55% of women are less likely to vote to re-elect. 80% of Republicans and 51% of Independents are less likely,
while 38% of Democrats are more likely.
