4 Republicans who still stand for what being a Republican used to stand for have an obligation to
criticize Trump loud and clear. I'm an independent who votes R solidly 80% of the time, and the
Rs have folded like the cheapest of cheap suits, so I look for my percentage support to drop
precipitously at the national level. I still have hope for the party at the state level as long as
people like Governor Holcomb are still in charge. The extreme left is crazy, and the extreme
right is crazy dangerous. That's how I see it.

6 If we ever needed another FDR, Truman, or Reagan in the White House, it's now. If the daily
briefing comes on and Dr. Fauci's not up there, I change the channel or walk out of the room.
The press corps should, too. Holcomb is handling this well at the state level, but he's been dealt
a lousy hand just like all 49 of his fellow governors. A friend of mine lost her father to COVID-19
last night. This is all too real.

7 Personal opinion - I'm one of those who think that we didn't need to wreck the entire economy
for the fear of the virus. This in not Chernobyl, or the plague. How many were shot or killed in
Marion County over the last few years and we don't do a shutdown of certain zip codes. What
about #s for traffic accidents, cancer, and yes, the flu? Many of the kids would have been better
cared for staying in school. Won't be surprised if domestic violence goes up. We could have
asked those at higher risk to quarantine themselves instead of shutdown the city, state, and
country. $2 trillion in debt is probably just the first installment. We can't survive the debt. I've
been saying "the Deplorables want their country back - let's get back to work". I think Trump's
true instincts for closing borders and limiting some but he's being advised to do more by those
around him to seem like he cares more and is taking care of the country. Not to be heartless
that there have been deaths which is hard on families. Get beyond the red tape and the trial
meds out there. My worry is how do we come out of this. What company or state wants to be
the one "who doesn't care" and starts back up, then why isn't everything going to be discounted
or free for how long?! We didn't need to worry about Bernie or Biden getting elected. In a
month, we crashed our country over fear of a virus. "Hoosier Up" and let's stop hunkering
down. Rosie the Riveter went to work, she didn't stay home!

distributed and people start freaking out. I think our nation is struggling to form any kind of

16 Politicians and health officials are being negligent in their communication about covid-19. They
are misrepresenting the facts by reaching conclusions based only on those having been tested
when we know many have no symptoms and are not being tested. They are using fear by
misrepresenting facts in order to gain compliance with stay at home orders. And last time I
checked, you don't have to be an epidemiologist to do basic math. People with covid-19 who
aren't tested don't go into the denominator for any calculations. Meaning the "death rate" being
bandied about is far higher than reality. Politicians and health officials should be much more
clear about that fact.

the truth. I believe I dismissed the magnitude of the potential problem because the shameless
"Breaking News" tagline is brutally used that who the hell pays attention. I watch the MSNBC

35 The hysteria created by the media has not been proportional to the current situation. Never
have I seen a more complex topic be analyzed so casually by people who know nothing about

what he did do. I'm not saying that they're trying to screw Holcomb there, but it's an
irresponsible headline because many people won't click to the full story. I have gotten most of
my "news" on this issue from watching the press conferences because the commentary from
reporters on social media has been unreliable. Did Holcomb really cut a press conference short
after 10 questions or was Ryan Martin just too slow to get his question asked? Is the Star
reliable after the post an old photo of a press conference held pre-social distancing and then
decide to question whether the governor should hold press conferences? Give me a break.
Fortunately, I don't have to rely on the media because I can watch the Holcomb and POTUS
press conferences.
36 I'm frustrated (nice word) with those who are ignoring the recommendations to stay home.
These people should be fined. And if minors are ignoring it, their parents should be fined.
Businesses have been ordered to close and small businesses are suffering. Individuals should
be held to the same standard. This is going to last a lot longer than it need to because of these

company, we are considered essential. I am thankful that I am able to work and provide for my
family, but what we are doing is not essential in helping "flatten the curve" or essential to critical

seeing. They need help. They are becoming very emotional and are losing their grip

school nurses? The isolation pits are everywhere on floors on hospitals. Nurses are not able to

who aren’t really essential (Draper in Spiceland). I work for the State in a correctional facility.
We are making contingency plans beyond what the general public could even fathom in
preparing for the surge. Gov. Holcomb and his staff are supportive of corrections and
understands the challenges we face when not confronted with a pandemic. I have nearly 25
years in state service and this is the first Governor I feel has truly supported the rehabilitation of

his every decision he is fair and thoughtful ... however the super majorities in both chambers
have broken our legislative process. I understand I'm a center left D in an R state but I think
anyone truly looking at it objectively realizes the longterm health of our state and economy (and
maybe I'm guilty of looking at this through the lens of Central Indiana) is jeopardized by the type
of circus we saw at the end of the last session. Thank God they are out of session in the middle

Martinsville. The drone photos in the video showed terrible examples of "essential work" being
done with NO social distancing of the employees doing the work. I was disgusted that one of

129 Indiana seems to be doing very little at a State level to address this relative to other states. New
York, for example, has extensively sourced medical supplies. They recently even ordered
thousands of Bag Valve Masks (manual ventilators if you will) and have considered training
National Guard personnel you use the device in the event of a ventilator shortage. They have
also been exponentially more transparent in terms of hospital/ICU capacity as well as ventilator
counts. Watching the response of our state officials makes me worry we’re being reactive rather
than proactive.
