• Marc Adamus is a landscape
photographer who travels around to
many different places and climbs
and navigates to high mountains
just to get pictures of the things he
likes from the angles he wants. He
is from Corvallis, Oregon and his
style is considered very modern for
photography.

4. Choose an image…. Describe it
• The photo is a picture of Mount Tom
in California in the morning light. The
photo is pretty much a still but must
have been taken at a very precise
time to avoid the specific amount of
light that pretty much completes the
picture. The beauty of this picture is
that it is very simple to obtain; all it
took was an impressive camera and
a little effort. The orange light on the
whole picture is what sets the whole
thing off because it adds a touch of
season to the photo whilst
representing the morning in the
wilderness.

5. Composition
• This Photo is a real full landscape photo. This actually
differentiates it from a lot of other landscape photos because
they zoom in or stand closer to obtain a view of a scene however
this particular picture includes all that is to be seen in the
landscape as if you are there. The objects seen in the frame
create a background and a foreground very well giving the
picture a depth and wide expanse feel.

• As far as the basic techniques are
concerned Marc Adamus makes
good use of all of them when
necessary. For example one of the
pictures on the right is an example of
how he uses shutter speed to create
a flowing feel to the picture of a river.
He also frequently uses the rule of
thirds subtly to create more
interesting pictures.

7. Strengths & Weaknesses
• I really admire the work of Marc
Adamus because he has so
many different landscape
photos from so many different
places. It could really influence
me to make my work compare
to his using the techniques he
uses such s creating a depth and
working the rule of thirds into
simple landscapes like the
picture to the right. My only issues
with the photographer is that he
only takes pictures of specific
things and the pictures
occasionally get a bit repetitive.
