India's Mangalyaan Mars Orbiter Mission was launched on November 5, 2013 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The spacecraft successfully entered Mars' orbit on September 24, 2014, making ISRO the fourth space agency to achieve Mars orbit. The Mars Orbiter Mission's objectives were to develop the technologies required for interplanetary missions and to study the Martian surface and atmosphere. Key people involved in the mission included K. Radhakrishnan, Mylswamy Annadurai, and P. Kunhikrishnan.

2. The space agency had planned the launch on 28 October 2013 but was postponed to 5
November following the delay in ISRO's spacecraft tracking ships to take up pre-
determined positions due to poor weather in the Pacific Ocean.
It was launched on 5 November 2013 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
During a meeting on 30 September 2014, NASA and ISRO officials signed an agreement
to establish a pathway for future joint missions to explore Mars.
Assembly of the PSLV-XL launch vehicle, designated C25, started on 5 August 2013.

3. K. Radhakrishnan led as Chairman ISRO.
Mylswamy Annadurai was the Programmed Director and in charge of budget
management as well as direction for spacecraft configuration, schedule and
resources.
S Ramakrishnan was a Director who helped in developing the liquid propulsion
system of the PSLV launcher.
P. Kunhikrishnan was a Project Director in the PSLV programmed. He was also
a Mission director of PSLV-C25/Mars Orbiter Mission.
Moumita Dutta was the Project manager of the Mars Orbiter Mission.
Nandini Harinath was the Deputy Operations Director of Navigation.
Ritu Karidhal was the Deputy Operations Director of Navigation.
BS Kiran was the Associate Project Director of Flight Dynamics.

4. V Kesava Raju was the Mars Orbiter Mission Director.
V Koteswara Rao was ISRO scientific secretary.
Chandradathan was the Director of the Liquid Propulsion System.
A. S. Kiran Kumar was the Director of the Satellite Application Centre.
M. Y. S. Prasad is the Director at Satish Dhawan Space Centre. He was also the
chairman at Launch Authorization Board.
S. K. Shivakumar was a Director at the ISRO Satellite Centre. He was also a
Project Director for the Deep Space Network.
Subbiah Arunan was a Project Director at Mars Orbiter Mission.
B Jayakumar was an Associate Project Director at the PSLV programmed who
was responsible for testing the rocket systems.
MS Pannirselvam was the Chief General Manager at the Srihari Kota Rocket port
and was tasked to maintain launch schedules.

6. India built Mangalyaan (“Mars craft” in English) to study the Red Planet
and test key technologies required for exploring the inner solar system.
The Mangalyaan spacecraft successfully entered Mars orbit on September
23, 2014, making ISRO only the fourth space agency in the world to do
so.

7. ISRO was formed in 1969. IRSO was formed on independence day 1969 by Dr. Vikram
Sarabhai.
The first rocket launched by India was transported on an old jeep and a faulty crane.
ISRO’s mars mission is that the most cost-effective so far, simply 450 crore i.e. Rs 12 per
kilometer, comparable to auto fare.
They don’t purchase stuff. They build it.
