Fatigue must be managed by employers and employees to prevent accidents and ensure workers are fit for duty.

Fatigue must be managed, like any other
hazard.
It is important not to underestimate the risks of
fatigue.
The legal duty is on employers to manage risks
from fatigue, even if the worker is willing to
work extended hours.
Employees also have a duty to ensure that they
are fit for work – well rested, adequate sleep.
