An analytical study of Hygiene Practices and its impact of Health status of t...ijtsrd
"Individual health and hygiene is largely dependent on adequate availability of drinking water and proper sanitation. Therefore, a direct relationship between water, sanitation and health. Consumption of unsafe drinking water, improper disposal of human excreta, improper environmental sanitation and lack of personal and food hygiene have been major causes of many diseases in developing countries and India is no exception to this. Sanitation is one of the basic determinants of quality of life and human development index. Good sanitary practices prevent contamination of water and soil and thereby prevent diseases. The concept of sanitation was, therefore, expanded to include personal hygiene, home sanitation, safe water, garbage disposal, excreta disposal and waste water disposal. The present research aim to study sanitation practices followed by the household in the PanhalaTaluka. For the study hygiene index was prepared and household sanitation practices were assessing. The study result reveals that households are following the hygiene practices in terms of defection and hand washing habits, however the score is less in terms of water related hygiene practices and domestic waste management. Penny Turner (standing in for Debra Hall) from Synovate and Pat Murray from EECA, present the findings of their ‘values’ research. This research was about understanding how we can encourage people to make space in their minds to think about using energy wisely. This is especially when their mind is already filled up with other important decisions (for example food and shelter, work, and friends, family and relationships). They found four key groups of motivations to encourage energy-related behaviour change: sustainable future, warm comfortable home, family wellness, and $$$$$’s. It is then illustrated how the findings from this research have been used to develop a behaviour change television campaign for EECA, ‘the Energy Spot’.

Wells, toilets, water towers, and pipelines. Even the
well-designed elements of Rotary water, sanitation, and
hygiene (WASH) projects can fail if people don’t use
them. There are many reasons people might hesitate
to use a communal toilet. It’s important to understand
the reasons before you build the toilet. Learn about
behavior change and its role in WASH programs, how it’s
connected with culture and community values, and how
to incorporate it into your WASH projects and measure
the outcomes.

Water sanitation and hygiene
The topic I am going to deal with is water sanitation and hygiene which is normally referred to as WaSH or Watsan. This has been a key health issue that involves the public. The availability or accessibility of sustainable Watsan has been an issue of concern for quite some time now. According to reports collected from several international agencies that deal with development, water sanitation and hygiene is tied up to a lot more things than people can fathom, (Mbuya, & Humphrey, 2016). They say that with Watsan, a person’s health can improve, students can learn better, there can be a better sense of gender equality and it can even boost life expectancy.
Moreover, Watsan can bring about a lot of international developments. Accessible wash not only means having access to the things you need but also to the education of the importance of water sanitation and hygiene. The most essential things are adequate sanitation and clean drinking and using water. Having these three things can help a lot in boosting socio-economic development. It can also help to reduce the number of ill people that get affected by poor sanitation and hygiene and can also help in poverty eradication.
The issue
According to the world health organization research that was done in 2015, out of every three people, one of them does not have access to sanitation facilities, (World Health Organization. 2017). This sums up to 2.4 billion people in the world. The number of people that have no access to clean water is around 663 million persons. This is alarming because the number does not reduce if anything it only increases. Recent research shows that the number of people without safe drinking water is around eight hundred and eighty for million and the number will continue to be bothersome if it is not addressed well. For sanitation, people need things like soap and sanitizers to clean their handles.
These are the basic things. Toilet rolls and real toilets. Things like flying toilets are the main reasons people suffer from cholera and other diseases caused by dirt. The other thing is that a very large number of girls lack access to sanitary towels. This means that dealing with their menstruation becomes very difficult for them, (Hutton, & Varughese, 2016). Considering poverty levels, some families cannot afford to purchase some of these hygienic requirements which expose them and their children very high risks of getting ill. Another thing is that even the latrines that are available are shared by a lot of people which means that being infected by a disease someone else has become inevitable.
Associated problems
In almost all developing countries, 700,000 children lose their lives every year because of diarrhea. This is mostly contributed by a lack of sanitation. Those children that .

This workshop will focus on different exemplary practices of substance use prevention and intervention, focused on e-cigarette & marijuana. Experts from TUPE programs and SBHCs will present examples of youth leadership in substance use prevention, screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) protocols, and school policies to address substance use from a restorative framework. We will review recent prevalence data from the California Healthy Kids Survey, discuss the risks of youth vaping and marijuana use according to the research literature, examine the current policies and regulations at the federal, state and school level, and share educational resources for parents, students and educators.
