Chinese tea is made from Camellia sinensis plants and has a long history in China. To make Chinese tea, a large amount of tea leaves are added to a ceramic or porcelain pot before pouring in near-boiling water. The water is left to infuse the leaves for a short time, then poured out while reserving the leaves. More water is added to the pot and leaves to further infuse before serving the tea in cups. The quality of both the tea leaves and water used are important for a proper cup of Chinese tea.
