Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Logline
When an unknown deadly disease spreads across Earth, The inhabitants of the lone
planet are forced to reside on another planet. However, one man is remained on Earth
to discover the origin and conspiracy of the strange disease called Eulogia (you-low-jee-ah).
3. Context - What will happen?
● Sudden static screens into TV reports and narrations of the spreading of the disease. This will help to deliver the exposition to the
audience. End the reports with a testcard image with the high pitched beep
● (If the amount of filming each separate news report is too much to do within a certain time span, another similar idea is that the
opening will simulate a final EAS (Emergency Alert System) broadcast to everyone who is still using a television. The report will even
include the exposition of the outbreak of the disease and the report will stress the fact that everyone on earth should immediately
leave earth by visiting their nearest evacuation point.)
● An opening montage continues which contains clips of abandoned imagery combined with the opening titles/credits.
● The opening concludes with the man waking up in his bed, confused and in a daze. He gets up to investigate of his surroundings and
enter another room.
● The subject walks around the room until he finds a card with his name and identity. Also a letter is left behind from the government
and he discovers that he is the last person on earth left behind.
● The movie stops immediately on the look of shock on the man’s face.
● END
4. Setting
● We have chosen for the setting to show an abandoned earth with empty rooms
and deserted roads.
● Everything has been trashed and ruined with turned over tables and smashed
glass.
● We also have a news report setting reporting about the disease in a distressed
manner.
5. Location/s
● The scene where the scientist wakes in his demolished
bedroom will be located in a room in castlefield house. We
will use props to give the effect of his room being
destroyed. Using props again we can rearrange the room
and use it for the report scene with a desk and chairs and
maybe paper on the floor to suggest that the destruction
has already started.
● We will use still shots of empty streets local to reigate to
suggest that he is completely alone. This could be small
alley ways or parks which suggest that everybody is gone.
6. Character/s
● There will be one main character.
● The character is a male scientist.
● He is the only person left on earth.
● He is the only character in the opening sequence, however there will be a news
reporter on the tv in the beginning.
7. Cast
● Firstly, we will need actors for the news report to give the exposition at the start.
Probably 2 actors preferably.
● We also, of course, need the main role actor for the abandoned subject. If we can’t
find anyone else for this role then Dan will probably be the one who will play the
subject.
9. Permission
The most basic permission we need for the entirety of this shoot will be the permission
to use the Castlefield house and its bedroom and office room. Any other permission
would mainly be if a store window etc was in the shot and they do not want it to be
there. However, we do not plan to use shop fronts or windows in our clips.
10. Health & Safety
During the making and filming of this opening sequence, there are not many Health &
Safety issues that can be brought up as we are not handling any dangerous equipment
that could be a hazard to any of the people involved in the production of this film.
However, common sense needs to be taken by the all the members of the filming team
and sensible behaviour needs to be committed at all times. All the members of the
filming should be patient, Co-operative and aware of their surroundings. Members
should be extremely careful around the filming equipment as they can be easily broken
without precaution.
