2. Exposition
The scene is set with a man in his office sitting
alone at his desk with darkness surrounding,
this to begin with is an eerie setting however
there's no imbalance or any threat that he is
exposed to.
3. Rising action
This is the tension building in the short film and the man is
starting to be seen as a victim, on the computer he works on
he gets asked creepy questions with the first asking if he
wants to know how he's going to die. This forces the audience
into a state of discomfort as they sense something's going to
happen and these questions are leading up to something. This
tension is greater intensified as the man keeps looking back
behind him into the darkness, giving off the sense that he isn't
alone and something is watching.
4. climax
The main climax of the film is the jump scare at the end
of the monster showing up behind the man, its
something the audience are expecting but they are
unaware of how its going to happen, making it more
scary than it normally should be, they are unsure of
when the scare will happen and this makes it even
scarier when mixed with the jumpscare.
5. resolution
In this short film there is no resolution at the
ending. It ends on the climax as the viewers
know he dies at the end. This lack of a
resolution leaves the audience with a shocked
feeling and leaving them thinking about the
film and what would have happened.
