The student learned several new technologies through creating their magazine coursework project. Adobe Photoshop CS6 was used to edit images, create layers, and assemble the magazine layout. An Apple iMac helped the student become familiar with the Mac OS and installing fonts. Blogger was used to host content online and Google was used for research and audience surveys. Microsoft Office formatted work and Slideshare/Scribd hosted presentations. Overall the student felt they gained valuable experience with various software and technologies.

Strengths of my product The strengths of my school magazine front cover and contents page are that I was able to produce both in time for a strict deadline which shows I can complete work on time. Other strengths are that I was able to use Photoshop and quark express efficiently and produce them to a good standard and they were also similar to my sketch designs. Another strength was that my front cover and contents page followed some of the codes and conventions of a magazine front cover
- 3. Weaknesses of my product The weaknesses of my products are that it is lacking in detail and it is missing the things which would make it look better and move professional. Also both pages don’t completely follow the codes and conventions of a magazine cover and contents page. Also both pages don’t have much to them and are not attractive to the eye.
- 4. Strengths of my use of media technologies My strengths are that I was able to use a camera to take the photographs I needed. My other strengths where that I was able to use programs such as adobe Photoshop and Quark express to an extent I was able to create both a magazine cover and a contents page for the first time and I was able to use basic tools on Photoshop and Quark.
- 5. Weaknesses of my use of media technologies My weaknesses where that when I am using a camera I am not creative enough when producing a shot. Another weakness was that both my contents page and front cover where very basic and I don’t use the tools that could of made it better.
