This document provides information about Madrid, Spain. Madrid is the capital of both Spain and the autonomous community of Madrid. The symbols of Madrid include the traditional crimson flag used by Castilian municipalities and the coat of arms featuring an oak tree and strawberry plant adorned with an ancient royal crown. The climate is a continental Mediterranean climate influenced by urban conditions. Winters are cold with temperatures below 5°C and frequent frosts and snowfall. Summers are hot with average temperatures of around 24°C in July and August and occasional highs up to 35°C.
