Future vacancies related to teaching English
Dear Sir/Madam,
Ever since I started teaching at the elementary school level, I have been passionate in my commitment to
three things: making students question the world around them, do it in the medium of English, and prepare
them for the future challenges they face. I believe same can be applied to other age groups, whether it is
for the continuation of education or workplace requirements. My enclosed resume will illustrate it in more
detail.
I taught EFL to beginners and intermediate students in a public primary school in Croatia for 5 years.
When preparing students for competitions I would also have the opportunity to include some advanced
lessons. I developed my TEFL skills by completing 3+2 year (Bologna model) university master program.
Through my teaching experiences and TEFL studies, I developed critical pedagogic and classroom
management skills, along with a passion for teaching English.
I'm most comfortable with the Communicative Teaching Method, a philosophy that emphasizes interactive,
student-centered activities that maximize “student talk time.” I scaffold my lessons so that they include pair
and group work, as well as movement around the classroom. If there is an opportunity, I like to include
emerging technologies such as SMART boards or e-books. By engaging students in speaking, grammar,
writing, listening, and reading and appealing to diverse learning styles, I help them improve their accuracy
and fluency across key skill areas. However, I am also willing and able to adapt to other teaching styles.
After just moving to the Netherlands, I understand both the excitement and the challenges that accompany
learning a new language. I aim to support students’ social-emotional well-being as they learn English and
deepen their global and cultural awareness.
I look forward to speaking with a potential employer to discuss their specific needs and my ability to meet
them. I'd be thrilled to join a team of globally-minded educators dedicated to high-quality instruction. I
