2. Don’t tell me it’s too hard

Both contrast as she
thinks that whatever

too hard yet she
won’t give up , it
could be about a
break up yet she
could be personifying
an inanimate
object/something that
does not have a life
to express her
feelings about it.

3. And so the sky becomes a dream,

4. Personifying the sky- the sky see’s
everything and is everywhere we go even if
you’re not thinking about it which means
she could be talking about a person being
on her mind everywhere she goes and she
doesn’t want them to be or realise that they

and suggests it’s
something she really
wants but can’t have.
And so the sky, it watched my dreams
Fall to pieces right in front of me
Coz I’m just too busy waiting for nothing

5. Could refer to her dream- her dream is what
she wishes for or maybe she doesn’t know
what she’s looking for but wants to find out.

Than to find what I’ve been looking for,
And I swore to myself I wouldn’t lie to myself,
How could I let this happen?
She tells herself that she doesn’t
like the person or whatever she’s
talking about but she actually does.
Doesn’t want to like this
person because she
knows they’re bad etc.
but couldn’t help liking
them.

6. She knows what she’s getting
herself into so she’s trying to
stop the feelings
So I pull myself aside, take the time to tell myself it’s alright,

Irony- this person is never
there for her yet they’re the
one to cause her pain
