Sony develops ultra-low power GPS and cellular chips and modules to enable a wide range of IoT applications requiring continuous positioning and long battery life. Their GPS chips can achieve continuous tracking at only 6mW power consumption. Sony also provides the SPRESENSE development board and SDK to help IoT developers easily integrate low power sensing and connectivity into their solutions. Additionally, Sony is working on unlicensed LPWA technology and optimizing power consumption to further extend battery life for IoT devices.
