LSC SOFTBALL
Tarleton State remains undefeated this season at 10‐0 overall which is the best start in program history. Three teams –
Angelo State, Texas A&M‐Commerce, and West Texas A&M ‐ have just one loss.
This week schedule includes the start of league games along with non‐conference contests.
LSC teams are playing a single round‐robin schedule with a three‐game series against each league opponent. The
overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular‐season conference games, while
the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion and receive the league’s
automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. The single‐elimination championship featuring the top six teams will be
played May 4‐5, at the No. 1 seed.
LSC softball teams are 66‐34 overall this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the group is currently 18‐3
combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 17‐13 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Kourtney Coveney, West Texas A&M University, JR, Infielder/Pitcher, Katy, Texas, Katy
Coveney had a monster weekend for the No. 13 Lady Buffs as they went 3‐1 at the WT Invitational to improve to 7‐1
overall. The Katy, Texas product went 9‐for‐12 at the plate to hit .750 on the weekend with eight runs scored, one triple,
three homeruns to drive in 12 RBI with 20 total bases for an incredible slugging percentage of 1.667 while walking three
times with no strikeouts for an on‐base clip of .800. Coveney exploded for eight RBI including a pair of homeruns
highlighted by her first career grand slam on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Buffs topped Western Oregon and
Southwestern Oklahoma State at Schaeffer Park in Canyon. The junior also tossed a pair of scoreless innings against the
Bulldogs, allowing just two hits with a strikeout and no walks.
PITCHER
Jordan Withrow, Tarleton State University, FR, RHP, Trenton, Texas, Trenton HS
Withrow was stellar for the TexAnns in the pitching circle as the sophomore pitched Tarleton to wins over Texas
Woman's and No. 22 St. Mary's at the Rattler College Classic in San Antonio last weekend. Withrow's weekend started
with her first complete game shutout of the season as she blanked Texas Woman's for seven innings and struck out 12
Saturday. She followed up in the Sunday finale to deliver a complete‐game victory over No. 22 St. Mary's behind an 11‐
strikeout performance. For the week, Withrow threw 14.0 innings with a 1.00 ERA and a pair of wins to go along with 23
2. strikeouts and a .160 opponent batting average. Withrow leads the Lone Star Conference in strikeouts through the first
two weeks of the season with 43 ‐ which is 13 more than the next highest pitcher in two fewer innings.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Madyson Marvulli, Cameron University, had a stellar second weekend for the Aggies, batting .571 with a 1.143
slugging percentage. The freshman had eight hits, with two homeruns and two doubles, while driving in eight runs and
scoring four. Marvulli had two hits in three of CU's five contests, including a four RBI game against St. Edward's.
Georgia Capell, Tarleton State University, had a huge week to lead the TexAnn offense to four more wins, including a
7‐2 win over No. 22 St. Mary's on the Rattlers' home field Sunday afternoon. The freshman slugger from Midlothian hit
.545 with a team‐leading three home runs and eight RBI. Capell was 6‐for‐11 at the dish with six runs scored, which was
also tied for the team lead. She boasted a slugging percentage of 1.455 and had a 1.000 fielding percentage for the
week. Capell had the first multi‐home run game of her career in addition to a career‐high RBI performance with two
home runs and five RBI to lead to TexAnns to a 9‐0 rout of California (Pa.) Saturday afternoon.
Morgan McCallum, Texas Woman's University, helped lead TWU to a win over No. 22 St. Mary's to open the NCAA
Division II College Classic. The sophomore tallied multi‐hit games in three of the four contests and had three RBI versus
Regis. The Kentucky transfer was also 2‐for‐2 stealing bases.
Karina Rocha, Angelo State University, had herself a weekend. The sophomore helped the No. 2 Rambelles go 6‐0 at
the ASU George & Ola McCorkle Challenge with seven extra base hits and 10 RBIs. She hit .500 while recording three
homes runs and four doubles in six games. The Buda native slugged 1.429 and finished the weekend with a .588 on base
percentage. She also scored five runs.
Erikka Burke, Eastern New Mexico University, played a major role in the Greyhounds winning four out of five games
over the weekend at the St. Mary's Classic. The senior first baseman hit safely in four of the five games and had three
multi‐hit games. Burke homered against Regis, California (Pa.) and #22 St. Mary's. She also had a pair of doubles against
Fort Hays State. With five runs scored and six batted in, she accounted for 11 of the Hounds' 24 runs over the weekend.
Ariana Maldonado, Western New Mexico, had a hit in all five games, going for multi‐hit games in four of the
contests. She went 3‐4 with a double, home run and RBI against MSU Denver. She posted two hits, with a pair of doubles
in the win against CSU‐Pueblo. She went 2‐4 against both Hawaii Hilo and Dominican as she had a double in both games
and drove in a run against Dominican. She hit .476 for the week with 10 hits, five doubles, a home run and four RBI with
18 total bases. Maldonado was also perfect in the field with 11 putouts and an assist without an error.
Kinsie Hebler, Texas A&M University‐Commerce, continued her hot hitting in the second week of softball action to
begin the season. She hit .455 with five hits, two doubles and a home run. She had five RBIs and scored four runs. She
had a double and a three‐run home run with four RBIs in the Lions' 9‐1 win over St. Edward's. She then had an RBI single
against Newman. She then had two hits and a run scored in the Lions' 2‐1 win over Oklahoma Baptist. Hebler was also
the winning pitcher in the game against Newman. She is seventh in the LSC in batting average, second in home runs,
fourth in doubles, third in RBIs, third in slugging percentage and leads the conference in total bases.
3. Kelsey Eropkin, Midwestern State University, led the Mustangs offense this past weekend, hitting .429 with three
runs scored. The outfielder slugged at a 1.000 clip at the North Texas Softball Bash, ripping a home run and a double.
Against Oklahoma Baptist, Eropkin pulled a double down the left field line to start a rally for MSU, coming around to
score on the next pitch. With the Mustangs trailing 5‐2 to Newman, the Shawnee, Okla., native launched a home run,
starting a five‐run inning for MSU.
Morgan Hill, Angelo State University, helped the Rambelles go 6‐0 at the ASU George & Ola McCorkle Challenge by
not allowing an earned run. The senior went 4‐0 in four appearances and threw one complete game shutout. She
recorded 19.0 innings of work and struck out 18 while only giving up 11 hits. She held opponents to a .162 batting
average and didn't allow an earned run all weekend.
Abbie Lancaster, Midwestern State University, earned her Lone Star Conference‐leading third save of the season,
entering the game against Newman with the go‐ahead run on first base. She induced a flyout to straightaway center to
escape the jam. In her first outing of the weekend, Lancaster went 3.0 innings of relief, scattering a hit and a walk while
striking out a pair. In her last 10.2 innings of work, Lancaster has allowed only three hits no runs.
Emily Otto, Texas A&M University‐Commerce, continued to shine last week for the Lions. She had a win and a save
in eight innings of action. She recorded six strikeouts without a walk. She pitched a complete game against St. Edward's
in the Lions' 9‐1 win, striking out three batters and did not give up an earned run. She was then called into action in the
final two innings of the Lions' game against Oklahoma Baptist. With the team clinging to a 2‐1 lead, Otto got the six outs
needed, including striking out all three batters in the seventh inning to earn her first save. Otto has 27 strikeouts with a
strikeout‐to‐walk ratio of 9‐1 so far this season.
Bethany Hines, Cameron University, dominated for the Aggies in her two starts at the St. Mary's Invitational. Against
St. Edward's, the sophomore only had to go four innings, while giving up just one hit and striking out three batters in the
10‐0 win. Hines then held the host team, St. Mary's, to just six hits and one run while striking out seven in the 4‐1 win. In
her two games, she posted a 0.82 ERA and a .189 opponents' batting average.
Shayne Starkey, West Texas A&M University, was dominant in the circle this past weekend for the Lady Buffs as the
junior left hander led WT to a 3‐1 record at the WTAMU Invitational in Canyon. The Denton product tossed 6.2 innings
as she allowed just eight hits and three runs (one earned) to go along with no walks and 13 strikeouts in her pair of
outings with one start. Starkey picked up the win in the circle on Sunday afternoon against Southwestern Oklahoma
State.
Leslie Reyes, Eastern New Mexico University, pitched 25.2 of the Greyhounds 34 innings over the weekend and lifted
the team to a 4‐1 record at the St. Mary's Classic. She recorded every out in wins over Regis, Fort Hays and California,
with 10 strikeouts and five earned runs allowed over those 21 innings. Her shutout against Fort Hays was ENMU's first of
the season.

The Aggies went 4‐1 at the St. Mary's College Classic this past weekend, with their only loss coming against California‐
Pennsylvania, 9‐6. Cameron hit .326 at the plate with 31 runs scored and seven homers at the plate, while the CU
pitchers held the opposition to hitting just .254 with a combined 2.61 ERA in 31 innings of work; Bethany Hines and Riley
Willmon combined for 22 strikeouts. Offensively, freshmen Kaitlyn Alvarado and Madyson Marvulli each had a team best
eight hits, while drove in eight runs in the four game span.
