Trafalgar Square is famous
for its Nelson’s Column, a
beautiful monument to
Admiral Nelson in the centre
of the square.
He defeated the French at
the Battle of Trafalgar in
1805.
5. Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is a bascule
bridge* over the River
Thames. It is a symbol of
London.

6. Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey is a
royal church.
It is situated opposite the
Houses of Parliament.
The church is more than 900
years old.
There was the coronation of
Queen Elizabeth II in
Westminster Abbey.
There are tombs of many
