The German community began settling in Łódź in the late 18th century, with incentives including tax exemptions and free building materials. The most powerful German families included the Scheiblers, Heinzls, Biedermanns, Geyers, Grohmans and Anstadts. In 1974, a single released in Germany called "Theo wir fahr'n nach Lodz" sold a record number of copies and topped the charts for several weeks, promoting the city of Łódź. Zalando decided to build a new distribution center in Poland near Łódź due to factors including its central location, available workforce, and proximity to major highways.

Harman company (Samsung owned) - offers Automotive
Engineering Services for connected car solutions and services
to global automotive ecosystem participants addressing
complex business challenges. Our Łódź’s subsidiary provides
solutnion, among others, for Mercedes.
Hycom – Łódź based company providing e-commerce
solutions, has recently opened subsidiary in Munich. One of
their clients is T-Mobile.
Thanks to the infrastructural investments, Łódź came even closer to Warsaw. It takes less to travel
from New Center of Lodz to Warsaw business area than from many parts of the capital city.
That is why one of the most innovative banks in Poland - Mbank (owned by Commerzbank) built
their business structures basing on Warsaw and Łódź at the same time and benefiting from
the assets of both locations.
Thanks to Expo 2024, we
will create a Central Park
covering an area of over
70 ha. The exhibition will
take place not only there,
but also in other parks
in Łódź, which will help
us change it. The thematic
