 Where do students in the hall go?
 The multipurpose room?
 The cafeteria?
 The media center?
 The bathroom?
 Outside?
 What does the red card mean?
 What are the two (2) ways administration will
know the intruder is in your room?
 Who should you unlock your door for during a
lockdown?
 List 3 things that should be done by teachers
and/or administrators during a lockdown.
 How do you know the school is in lockdown?
 Principal or designee will announce that the school is
in lock down mode.
 Where do students in the hall go?
 Every student who is out of class, but inside the
building, is to go to the nearest occupied classroom.
 The multipurpose room?
▪ Find a safe secure place in the multipurpose room.
 The cafeteria?
▪ Back into the serving/kitchen area.
 The media center?
▪ One of the classrooms/offices in the back.
 The bathroom?
▪ The nearest occupied classroom, even if it is not their
classroom.
 Outside?
▪ If students are already outside of the building, move them to
a safe and inconspicuous area until otherwise instructed.
(Ideally out of view of the school)
 What does the red card mean?
 Emergency assistance is needed as soon as possible.
 What are the two (2) ways administration will
know the intruder is in your room?
 No card is displayed in the window or under the
door.
 Include the principal’s name in your response
when contacted by the office.
 Who should you unlock your door for during a
lockdown?
 No one, anyone who needs access will have a key.
 List 3 things that should be done by teachers
and/or administrators during a lockdown.
 Announce the lockdown
 Turn off the bell system
 Check the hallway for students
 Close and lock all doors
 Turn off lights
 Close blinds
 Move students out of sight
 Place appropriate card in window and under door
 Contact all classrooms.
