Boscombe Pier is the heart of my music video,
the area is a well-known beauty spotwhen
filming,I need to pick a sensibletime to avoid
harsh weather conditions and disruption by the
public.
Weather Conditions:Briefly explained in the
section to the left, there is a huge possibility
that rain may occur when filmingin this area.
Make sureumbrellas areused to protect
equipment and staff if rainingoccurs during
filming. If out, there is a chancethat largegusts
of wind will blowsand into the eyes of the team.
Disruption in production capturing: Filmingin
this area may be difficultas itis an open space
with changingweather conditions.The public
could be a bitof a problem as itis an open space
and I would need to get the permission of
anyone who gets in the shots.
Brief Safety Side: The pier and the beach is well
maintained but after briefly scoutingthe area,
rubbish does pileup, this can be anythingfrom
rubbish packets to broken glass.
Elements to Consider:
The Public:As the beach and pier are open,
public areas, itis vital to make surelocal people
are okay with being filmed. If you want to avoid
this,go at a time where there aren’t so many
people. Summary: Ask for permission before
filmingany members of the public to avoid
complication and hazards.
Weather: South-western England is known for
its rain conditionsand after such a wet summer
and start of the winter, rain is almostcertain to
occur 2-6 times a week from lightto heavy
showers. When filminghere, staff members
should wear rain coats to avoid health issues,as
well as a medic kit and a trained firstaider.
Risks and Safety: Duringthe location scout,we
have marked and noted a variety of risks that
could injureor effect a staff member’s health.
1- Risk of injury on sharp objects:
2- Risk of injury dueto animals.
