Type of Location:Private Property
Location:Poole,Dorset
Overview:
The greenhouse situated on the Magna Academy
grounds will play a crucial partin our documentary. It
will play home to Viin Lyee, and Vietnamese man
whose wares have made himpopular with the CHC.
Weather Conditions:
As pastweather forecasts would indicate, rain will
almostcertainly occur atone time or another during
production. It is for that reason that we will be
prepared for this regardless of the day’s forecast.
Umbrellas will bebrought so that the equipment can
be sheltered duringrain.Strong winds have also been
taken into accountand, as such,we will filmin areas
where dirt and chip wood doesn’t get into actors’
eyes.
Disruption in production capturing:
As this is a privatearea, the public will notbe cause
for concern at this particularlocation. The same
applies for traffic noisebecausethe location is far
enough from the main road.Furthermore, as we are
students at the school,we have a good relationship
with the staff and will certainly haveaccessto the
area.Disruption will mainly comefrom students.
Duringschool hours, the school will bepacked with
children which, especially and break and lunch times,
will mean it is far too noisy to film.Furthermore,
children may attempt to get in front of the
camera/showoff and,in turn, may damage equipment
or fall and hurtthemselves.
Brief Safety Side:
Being a privatearea, the site features cleaningstaff
and caretakers who will likely assistus if we have any
concerns regardingthe location’s safety.Being a
school, rubbish can pileup duringbreak and lunch
times. However, due to restorations putin placeby
the school, serious health riskssuch as broken glass
or needles won’t be present.
Elements to consider:
The Public:
As the location is on school grounds, visits fromthe
general public aren’ta concern. Our main challenge
will beworking around the time table of the school.
For example, due to the health risks itmight poseto
students, filmingduringbreak and lunch is outof the
question. Furthermore, occasionssuch asopen days
and parents evenings will bedifficult(as thesound of
cars and people would disruptfilming. For this
reason,we will work in conjunction with the school’s
caretakers to be surethat the days we pick for
filmingprovidethe leastdisruption to both us and
the school.
Weather:
Aforementioned, this area of Britain is known for
frequent lightto heavy showers. As a result, all staff
will requireraincoats;so thatthey stay warm and
dry, thus, preventing the risk of contractingillnesses
(such as a cold) which would haltfilming.
Furthermore, justin casethe rain causesomeone to
slip (which given the chip wood floor isn’tlikely), the
Jordan Jones would have a medic kiton him at all
times.
Risks and Safety:
All areas that could posea health risk havebeen
noted and photographed for future reference.
