2. Location Influence
For one of our main influences, we
have been looking at Rihanna's
music videos, the screen shot on
the left is taken from Rihanna's
famous music video ‘only girl in the
world’, we have chosen this music
video as one of our main
influences, this is because we
believe the locations are ones that
we would like to use in our music video. For example the field she uses in the picture seen
above is what we would want our location to look like, as we believe it fits with our song of
choice. There is also a scene in this video where Rihanna is seen on as swing in the field,
which was one of our original ideas after watching this
video, and we have a location planned for this. We
liked these ideas because we believed they were
effective and went along with the music very well,
And we believed they would work for our music video.
3. Location Influences
•
There were other various locations used
in this music video but as a group we
believe this was one of the locations we
thought was most effective, This is
because it fits in well with their song.
This location is seen in the images
shown.
Another one of our influences was from a previous
A level year from our school. They produced a
music video filming footage in London, this was
our original idea as the scenery would be effective
with our song choice. We believe the graffiti and
alley ways with brick walls looked very
effective, and made the music video look very
professional.
4. Location Influences
Another one of our location influences was from Cheryl Cole’s music video ‘Call my
name’. At the beginning of the music video Cheryl is seen walking and dancing in an
underground subway. As a group we believed this looked effective and gave us ideas
for our own music video. As Cheryl Cole’s music style is similar to the style of music
that the song for our music video is, we believe this will be equally effective for our
music video, giving a professional and stylish look. Our group already has a location
similar to this one in mind, we have decided to use this location for the opening scene
of our music video.
5. Camera Shot Influences
We have also been looking for various
camera shots that we could use for our
music video. In most pop music videos
there are a lot of close ups, and sometimes
extreme close ups. This is to exaggerate a
certain feature, maybe an eye with bold
make up. We believe that these are
effective shots and are frequently used in
all genres of music video. This type of shot
is frequently used in the music video’s of
the artist of the song that we are using as
our music video, this is one reason why we
have decided to use close up shots in
our music video.
6. Camera Shot Influences
Other camera shots used in our genre of
music video are shots such as wide
shots, long shots, low and high angle shots
and also establishing shots at the
beginning of the music video to present
the scene. These are shots that are very
effective and ones that we will use in our
music video.
