Your LinkedIn Profile:
Your LinkedIn profile is the cornerstone of your professional brand online. Yet many
people and professionals create a LinkedIn profile that looks like their résumé or CV.
If you’re using LinkedIn to attract hiring managers for your first paid internship
and/or a job, a simple list of your professional experiences could be the most boring
content to have on your profile.
Instead, complete all of the profile basics in a way that conveys your personality.
Make sure you pay attention to the next five sections for your profile to be identified
as all-Star from a Hiring Manager’s Perspective.
LINKEDIN DICTIONARY FUNCTION
A function that you cannot see it but it exists to show your profile to LinkedIn Recruiters who
are using the LinkedIn Recruit Tool to find job applicants.
The recruiters who usually use such tool are mostly into leadership and 5+ Years hire, thus
may not be your cup of tea, and why would you bother?
Well, the same aspects of the tool are also what all hiring managers look at on your profile.
Three Simple aspects that everyone seems to be interested in; the Three Pillars of your LDF.
We start with your headline and summary section. Clearly, your Job experience section has
no interest to anyone because you are still a fresh-grad.
Your Summary:
If you have treated your "about you" section as a copy-paste of your resume,
It's time you pay attention to the first technique. The 3*3 technique served as an Ideal
method here. We'd like you to write three paragraphs in your summary "About You" section.
1- Your first Paragraph is something about you personally
2- Your second paragraph is something about you professionally
3- Your third paragraph as what you are looking for
Example:
“A must-call candidate for Software Internship at Mumbai”
“Top- candidate for Marketing and Sales Role with Expertise on Clients Sales with 2
Years in London.”
“Must-call Candidate for [enter job description and two/three keywords]”
“Looking to hire a Marketing Leader, in [enter keywords and job title], let’s talk!”
STOP writing ‘actively looking for this and that.” You have distant yourself from Hiring
Managers. There are thousands of people who write like you. Why would you be any
special?
Instead: Allocate a one-line using the 30*70 method where you type 30% personal and
70% professional with emphases on keywords.
See what we did here? We simply made you more appealing to everyone.
YOUR HEADLINE
YOUR PRESENCE ON LINKEDIN
Job Experience Section:
The third  section is your Job Experience Section. Here, it does not matter if you have one
internship, or three. 1 Year or 3 of experience, we want you to write two lines in every
description of that job; what did you do? Sure it says " Internship at XYZ Company, and
you did marketing" okay! What sort of marketing?
Tell us in two lines. Those two lines are filled with keywords and you're one step closer
to have a recruiter find you from the search function as whatever you type in the above
three sections can be searched and found.
YOUR PRESENCE ON LINKEDIN
Often every day you became addicted to LinkedIn. You now believe that the
platform is important for you but you don’t know what exactly you should be
doing.
Liking and commenting on other people's posts is simply put it WASTING YOUR
TIME.
The right way is to try to answer: what’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn?
-         To find your first Paid Internship
-         To find the right job for you as a fresher
For you to achieve that, your presence on LinkedIn can be separated into two
aspects.
1 – Your activity: You must be active.
Write something now and then. It’s okay if no one likes it. It’s okay if no one cared about it.
The goal is simple: when the right hiring managers check your activity, they can see you are
UNIQUE. You are different. Now, they’ll notice you. Now, they’ll care about you.
2- Find the right people:
You must spend a portion of your day-to-day presence on LinkedIn finding the right people and
engage with them. This can be mainly achieved during your search for Hiring
Managers/Recruiters.
You can simply search for the right recruiter/hiring managers via the Search Engine by typing
the right Keywords.
The next time you are on LinkedIn, find the search bar and type keywords like i.e. (Hiring and
Software Developer and Mumbai) Now click search. Now you'd see five different sections where
one will say [People] click on that one. Those people are hiring software developers for
Mumbai. Congratulation you are now one step closer to find the right connections.
YOUR CONNECTIONS ON LINKEDIN
If you still think the more connection you have the more you’d obtain a good opportunity,
perhaps you should go back to LinkedIn School and learn more.
What I can tell you is CEOs have an average of 900+ connections. Moreover, don’t you think
one connection is enough to answer the question what’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn?
Of course one connection can have that effect on you, after all, one hiring manager with one
offer letter for you is all you need.
Now you start to understand how it works.
Now you start to think Finding the right people is important for you.
Now you realize sending blind connection to everyone and sending your resume to everyone
is simply a mistake you have been doing.
While on the search engine: Typing keywords such as [Hiring and fresher and Bangalore] and
hit ENTER is where you can see hundreds perhaps thousands of people whom are hiring
fresher’s and for Bangalore location.
See how simple keyword data has taken you one step closer to the questions you are thinking
about? that's LDF for you.
What we want from you is to [Personalize Your Connection Request] to three active
Recruiters profiles whom are hiring for fresher and for Bangalore just like we learn.
You are free to play with keywords like Mumbai instead of Bangalore.
Try typing in the Search Engine:
- Hiring and Fresher and Mumbai
- Hiring and Sales and Delhi
Now, you personalize your connection request by following the 3*3 technique.
The 3*3 stand for: Find three things about them from their profile in less than three
minutes before you click on the blue button and hit send a personalized connection
request (Add Note)
Now you are Unique. You did not blindly send a connection request.
You did not send a message with your CV directly to someone who does not know you.
You are doing it right now.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LINKEDIN
Congratulations! You now know what you have been doing wrong and how
you can re-counter it to do it right.
What we ask from you is to continue to do what we have shown you every
day to find the right people, and no-longer send blind resume and only
connect to those profiles who are hiring in your domain, in your location
and appear to be active.
They will accept your personalized connection request and rather be
impressed in you. Now, let's get you going!
Many job seekers have been doing it wrong. From sending blind
connection requests to sending copy-paste Messages to people and
recruiters hoping for a positive response, but at the end of the day, no
one turns out to help.
Be careful now! People may scam you and/or try to charge you money for
finding you a job and/or showing you they are recruiters. Never agree to
send a penny unless you have done your research.
Conclusions
RECRUITERS ON LINKEDIN
In early 2019, we have certified 100+ recruiters whom are hiring on LinkedIn
and mainly for a fresher.
By now you’d know that Campus Walk-In is nothing but a scam, and of course,
having a relationship with a recruiter is a hundred times better than closing
your eyes and sending blind resumes.
What you may also notice is many people continue to use the word
“Interested” in the comment section. A word that has become popular even the
smart ones have been a victim too. What you don’t realize is no recruiter or
hiring manager would actually respond back to your comment being
interested.
A case- scenario where a recruiter told us that “It’s my job to post the vacancy
on LinkedIn. It’s not my job to tell you how to go about it”
IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT RECRUITER
Identifying the right recruiter can take you up to five minutes of searching via the
ASC; Advance Search Capabilities function.
Try to type keywords in the search engine such as; [Recruiter and Bangalore
and Software] just like we have taught you.
What you just did is writing three keywords that according to the ASC, has both a
tagline (recruiter) a location (Bangalore) and Job title (Software) You may play
and/or change the keywords as to what fit you portfolio however always remember
that the ASC requires you to put (and) after every keyword.
Now that you have put the right keywords and hit enter, you’d be shown a series
of sections, one of which is called [People.] When you click on the section People,
you’d see thousands or hundreds of people whom are hiring to the same keywords
you have typed.
Now, connecting to recruiters is important for you to lay the groundwork.
Here, you don’t make the mistake of clicking the blue button right away. You
simply follow the 3*3 technique
You can simply copy-paste your average Macro template or create one that
allows you to be unique. Remember, starting a relationship with a recruiter
goes long term and you start from typing your personalized connection request.
From following the 3*3 you can type a simple note but be careful, it’s not
about you. ‘They don’t know you yet’ it’s about them and has always been about
them.
Example: Hi Arvin, I’m glad I found you via my search. I’m Sam and a fresher,
but unique one, armed with (Include no more than two personal traits.) I am
excited to follow your work and perhaps when you see this, I’d love to learn
from you.
CONNECTING TO RECRUITERS
Pay attention to what you did here; you made it about them not you.
When they accept your personalized connection request, they’d know you are unique.
Capitalize on this by sending a ‘Thank you’ message when they accept.
Never forward your resume. They’d ask you themselves now that your profile speaks
Unique and your presence on LinkedIn is UNIQUE.
WHAT DO I DO AFTER I CONNECT TO THEM?
Now that you have identified your 5/10 recruiters, please read this;
Generally, I recommend not to broadcast you are looking for a job through your
LinkedIn Profile. Instead, build your LinkedIn Profile to tell your target audience
and LinkedIn Network who you are and what you do.
Declare you are looking for a job only when appropriate and necessary. ONO In
general, LinkedIn Profiles that say “In transition”, “Looking for a job”, “Career
Search”, etc get ignored because these statements distract from the important
message of who you are, what you do and what you enjoy doing.
In here, YOU MUST have a rock-star profile. BUT what we did is, we have built your
network to the 1st degree. NOW you can tag them and chat with them.
SPARKING THE CONVERSATION
Recruiters aren’t always posting jobs on LinkedIn and if they are, that’s a plus one
for you. You can see if they are by checking one’s activity and if they do, don’t get
caught and rush to share your resume.
Remember, they don’t work like this and they don’t care about you just yet.
To spark the conversation with a recruiter, you may ‘stalk’ them on their activity on
LinkedIn. See if they have any recent activity and should they do, make sure you
[Comment with Insight] type a meaningful comment that thanks them for what they
do and they’ll see it. They’ll remember your personalized connection request. They’ll
notice you.
Remember, we still playing the ‘catch and release’ game here. We want them to
notice you. We want them to care about you.
It’s okay to send a chat that says “Hey I know you are hiring for this position and I
hope you find your candidate” that’s how you spark a conversation.
FOLLOWING UP WITH A RECRUITER
Now that you have made yourself unique, it’s easy for you to see when they have
posted the right job, you can simply send a chat and say ‘May I apply for this
position? It fits me perfectly and I have been waiting to see such a unique position?’
By now, they’d welcome you with an open arm. Moreover, they’d pay attention to you
because you have stood to be a unique profile unlike the other 1000+ whom have not
read this document.
You will never say
"Sir, please why no reply from you? "
"Sir Hello please see this! Ma'am please reply to this when you get the chance?"
"Ma'am still no response?Hello sir/Madam? Sir please I need this job I'm in need of
this."
Yes, you get it by now. You are doing it wrong. All of it. Let us see what and how can
we do right!
LET GET THEIR ATTENTION THE RIGHT WAY
Now, you start being active on LinkedIn, by posting content that appeals to the right
people whom you have identified.
1- Every day, you do a post
2- You tag the profiles you have identified them
3-You make sure you engage with their content
4- Now, they’ll notice you, Now, they’ll respond to you, Now, they’ll care about you.
5- Start the conversation in the chats where you know they are hiring and you are a
perfect fit.
6- Now they’ll ask for your resume, and they will check you out! I guarantee you once
you start tagging them!
Recruiters and Hiring Managers are just like us. We all are humans but with
recruiters, their Inbox is always filled with non-desired CV and non-welcomed
text messages that beg for a job. Remember you started differently. You are
different. They noticed you. They’d care about you now.
OUTCOME: Now, with every day you post on LinkedIn, and you tag them, they’ll
respond to you. They’ll contact and forward your resume.
Conclusions
CAN LINKEDIN HELP ME FIND  A JOB IN INDIA?
If you have a decent CV then yes it is, for freshers though a
bit hard unless you’re smart enough to connect, LinkedIn can
work in favor of you if you know to get in touch with the
right people, however, you can get into jobs that are not
exactly advertised and also it gives you the correct
reference.
THE WRONG WAY TO FIND A JOB

If you have been applying for jobs on the JOB Icon,
its time you STOP and realize that you among
thousands have been doing it wrong. Pay
attention to how many people have applied for
this job vacancy in three days.
The NEXT TIME  you applying for your first job or
Internship from the JOB Icon, pay attention to
how many people have clicked that “easy Click
APPLY” blue button. Check how many people
irrespective of whether they are  fit for the job or
not. Just see the number. Now ask yourself, will
HR actually see that many resumes regardless of
what automation email you receive that your
resume has been submitted and all of that
nonsense. Just ask yourself, frankly, you think HR
has seen all of those resumes? Of Course NO. You
are doing it wrong.
WHY AREN'T RECRUITERS REACHING OUT TO ME ON LINKEDIN?
Your profile does not contain relevant keywords. When recruiters use LinkedIn
Recruiter to search for people, they do searches based upon keywords their clients
use to identify someone, particularly long-tail keyword strings.
Your job title in your profile is not one that matches the LinkedIn data dictionary. If
a recruiter uses the title field as part of their search, if your title is not compliant
with the LinkedIn data dictionary, you are invisible
Number of connections “The more common connections you have with a searcher
(recruiter or hiring manager), the higher your profile will be in the results when
they search words relevant to your profile.” Recruiters can also specify degrees of
connection in their searches. The more connections you have, the more likely you’ll
be a 2nd-degree connection to a recruiter.
THE CONTENT FEATURE
Use content feature in the search engine
Put the right keywords
Check the dates; click on (posted last week)
The feed is now filled with posts
Remember typing "Interested" won't get you anywhere
Make sure you have read the 3*3
Personalize your connection request.
Stalk them once a while!
You already have identified your favorite recruiter
You already know how to spark the conversation
Now you are Unique.
You may now share your resume!
You may ask us to put a good word for you now.
FOLLOWING UP WITH HIRING MANAGER
Following up with the hiring manager is never an easy job.
They may not respond back to you. They may see your messages and not write
back. Even though you have done it right, you still don’t get a response back.
You must realize that even if the job fits you well, there may be others whom are
closer to a recruiter and/or have been referred almost instantly.
You don’t give up. They have not forgotten you. A Simple reminder may go along
way but do you know how to do it right?
The 7*7 technique has proven to be one of the best techniques for a fresher to stay
on the hiring manager's radar. Now that you have personalized your request,
sparked the conversation, a follow up is your last mile-stone for when you see
they have posted a perfect vacancy that fits you.
THE 7*7
The 7*7 is a two-paragraph repeated seven times over 10/13 working days.
Your first paragraph is always personal. Something about the recruiter/hiring
manager i.e., ‘I noticed you have not been active since the past two days. Have you
been busy or too much work?’
Your second paragraph is a direct request of your application. I.e., ‘I have
sent my resume to your email and/or when would you like me to send my resume?’
Pay attention that both Paragraphs have questions at the end, and based on
metrics, conversation and/or paragraph with questions has an 86% Success ratio of
a respond back. Moreover, the 7*7 has what we call at corporates a ‘Positive
Tone’ where you don’t sound desperate and in need of a job (even if you do) because
the minute you sound desperate is the same minute where your hope of getting a
response from a recruiter is gone.
STAYING ON THE RADAR
Remember when you personalized your connection request? Followed the 3*3 and the
7*7 with your ideal recruiter?
Now that you are different, you may allow yourself to take the conversation over the
phone.
It’s okay to ask for a Phone Number and schedule a call. They now know you and just
like you have done your homework, you are now comfortable taking the conversation
on a call. As long as the hiring manager has agreed to take your call.
Keep your first call personal and professional. Remember the 7*7 technique? Keep
your call just like that. You are Unique.
You have stood to be different. Aside from the thousands who have been
doing it all wrong, you now know how to do your work on LinkedIn right.
From your profile and presence all the way to identifying recruiters.
Remember, it takes one connection, one profile, one hiring manager to
answer the million-dollar question: what’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn?
Conclusions
Be more than a wallflower.
Be active on LinkedIn, and as Weiner suggests, be authentic and current.
Post any articles you write, videos you post.

How to Get Your First Internship or Job on LinkedIn: The 3 Pillars of Success

  • 1.
  • 2. You as a fresher must have seen posts like this: “Dear Connections, one of my friend is looking for this and that, and/or I’m a fresher and I need an internship as I recently graduated please connection can you help...”   These sorts of posts won’t help you get your results. Your-million dollar question: What’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn?        - To get your first internship - To get your first job Let us start with the obvious. This is what you have been doing wrong;  1- Apply for Internship/Jobs from the JOB Icon 2- Commenting “Interested”  3- “Hope you are doing well!” text when you connect to someone 4- You become desperate. You do know how to to get your first job/Internships This document is for you.
  • 3. I’m Sam, and this document shall explain to you what you have been doing wrong and the ways to do it right. This Set of slides would take you throughout three aspects; we like to call them the three pillars to get your first internship and/or a job with an emphasis on why you don’t hear back from recruiters. The document is designed by Instructors and experts in both the States and India.
  • 4. Your LinkedIn Profile: Introduction 1. - LDF - Your Keywords on LinkedIn - Your Presence on LinkedIn - Your Connections on LinkedIn - Your day-to-day LinkedIn - Conclusion 5- Recruiters on LinkedIn - Identifying recruiters in your domain - Connecting to recruiters? - How to spark the conversation? - Now what? I don't know what to do! - Okay, but will they care? - How to follow up? - Conclusion 10- Finding your first Internship/Job - Can LinkedIn really help me out? - The wrong way to find a job - Why recruiters do not talk to me? - Approaching/following up the hiring manager - The Content feature - The 7*7 - Staying on the radar - Conclusion 20- Conclusions 22- What’s Next? 23- Invitation
  • 5. Your LinkedIn Profile: Your LinkedIn profile is the cornerstone of your professional brand online. Yet many people and professionals create a LinkedIn profile that looks like their résumé or CV. If you’re using LinkedIn to attract hiring managers for your first paid internship and/or a job, a simple list of your professional experiences could be the most boring content to have on your profile. Instead, complete all of the profile basics in a way that conveys your personality. Make sure you pay attention to the next five sections for your profile to be identified as all-Star from a Hiring Manager’s Perspective.
  • 6. LINKEDIN DICTIONARY FUNCTION A function that you cannot see it but it exists to show your profile to LinkedIn Recruiters who are using the LinkedIn Recruit Tool to find job applicants. The recruiters who usually use such tool are mostly into leadership and 5+ Years hire, thus may not be your cup of tea, and why would you bother? Well, the same aspects of the tool are also what all hiring managers look at on your profile. Three Simple aspects that everyone seems to be interested in; the Three Pillars of your LDF. We start with your headline and summary section. Clearly, your Job experience section has no interest to anyone because you are still a fresh-grad. Your Summary: If you have treated your "about you" section as a copy-paste of your resume, It's time you pay attention to the first technique. The 3*3 technique served as an Ideal method here. We'd like you to write three paragraphs in your summary "About You" section. 1- Your first Paragraph is something about you personally 2- Your second paragraph is something about you professionally 3- Your third paragraph as what you are looking for
  • 7. Example: “A must-call candidate for Software Internship at Mumbai” “Top- candidate for Marketing and Sales Role with Expertise on Clients Sales with 2 Years in London.” “Must-call Candidate for [enter job description and two/three keywords]” “Looking to hire a Marketing Leader, in [enter keywords and job title], let’s talk!” STOP writing ‘actively looking for this and that.” You have distant yourself from Hiring Managers. There are thousands of people who write like you. Why would you be any special? Instead: Allocate a one-line using the 30*70 method where you type 30% personal and 70% professional with emphases on keywords. See what we did here? We simply made you more appealing to everyone. YOUR HEADLINE
  • 8. YOUR PRESENCE ON LINKEDIN Job Experience Section: The third  section is your Job Experience Section. Here, it does not matter if you have one internship, or three. 1 Year or 3 of experience, we want you to write two lines in every description of that job; what did you do? Sure it says " Internship at XYZ Company, and you did marketing" okay! What sort of marketing? Tell us in two lines. Those two lines are filled with keywords and you're one step closer to have a recruiter find you from the search function as whatever you type in the above three sections can be searched and found.
  • 9. YOUR PRESENCE ON LINKEDIN Often every day you became addicted to LinkedIn. You now believe that the platform is important for you but you don’t know what exactly you should be doing. Liking and commenting on other people's posts is simply put it WASTING YOUR TIME. The right way is to try to answer: what’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn? -         To find your first Paid Internship -         To find the right job for you as a fresher For you to achieve that, your presence on LinkedIn can be separated into two aspects.
  • 10. 1 – Your activity: You must be active. Write something now and then. It’s okay if no one likes it. It’s okay if no one cared about it. The goal is simple: when the right hiring managers check your activity, they can see you are UNIQUE. You are different. Now, they’ll notice you. Now, they’ll care about you. 2- Find the right people: You must spend a portion of your day-to-day presence on LinkedIn finding the right people and engage with them. This can be mainly achieved during your search for Hiring Managers/Recruiters. You can simply search for the right recruiter/hiring managers via the Search Engine by typing the right Keywords. The next time you are on LinkedIn, find the search bar and type keywords like i.e. (Hiring and Software Developer and Mumbai) Now click search. Now you'd see five different sections where one will say [People] click on that one. Those people are hiring software developers for Mumbai. Congratulation you are now one step closer to find the right connections.
  • 11. YOUR CONNECTIONS ON LINKEDIN If you still think the more connection you have the more you’d obtain a good opportunity, perhaps you should go back to LinkedIn School and learn more. What I can tell you is CEOs have an average of 900+ connections. Moreover, don’t you think one connection is enough to answer the question what’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn? Of course one connection can have that effect on you, after all, one hiring manager with one offer letter for you is all you need. Now you start to understand how it works. Now you start to think Finding the right people is important for you. Now you realize sending blind connection to everyone and sending your resume to everyone is simply a mistake you have been doing. While on the search engine: Typing keywords such as [Hiring and fresher and Bangalore] and hit ENTER is where you can see hundreds perhaps thousands of people whom are hiring fresher’s and for Bangalore location. See how simple keyword data has taken you one step closer to the questions you are thinking about? that's LDF for you.
  • 12. What we want from you is to [Personalize Your Connection Request] to three active Recruiters profiles whom are hiring for fresher and for Bangalore just like we learn. You are free to play with keywords like Mumbai instead of Bangalore. Try typing in the Search Engine: - Hiring and Fresher and Mumbai - Hiring and Sales and Delhi Now, you personalize your connection request by following the 3*3 technique. The 3*3 stand for: Find three things about them from their profile in less than three minutes before you click on the blue button and hit send a personalized connection request (Add Note) Now you are Unique. You did not blindly send a connection request. You did not send a message with your CV directly to someone who does not know you. You are doing it right now.
  • 13. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LINKEDIN Congratulations! You now know what you have been doing wrong and how you can re-counter it to do it right. What we ask from you is to continue to do what we have shown you every day to find the right people, and no-longer send blind resume and only connect to those profiles who are hiring in your domain, in your location and appear to be active. They will accept your personalized connection request and rather be impressed in you. Now, let's get you going!
  • 14. Many job seekers have been doing it wrong. From sending blind connection requests to sending copy-paste Messages to people and recruiters hoping for a positive response, but at the end of the day, no one turns out to help. Be careful now! People may scam you and/or try to charge you money for finding you a job and/or showing you they are recruiters. Never agree to send a penny unless you have done your research. Conclusions
  • 15. RECRUITERS ON LINKEDIN In early 2019, we have certified 100+ recruiters whom are hiring on LinkedIn and mainly for a fresher. By now you’d know that Campus Walk-In is nothing but a scam, and of course, having a relationship with a recruiter is a hundred times better than closing your eyes and sending blind resumes. What you may also notice is many people continue to use the word “Interested” in the comment section. A word that has become popular even the smart ones have been a victim too. What you don’t realize is no recruiter or hiring manager would actually respond back to your comment being interested. A case- scenario where a recruiter told us that “It’s my job to post the vacancy on LinkedIn. It’s not my job to tell you how to go about it”
  • 16. IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT RECRUITER Identifying the right recruiter can take you up to five minutes of searching via the ASC; Advance Search Capabilities function. Try to type keywords in the search engine such as; [Recruiter and Bangalore and Software] just like we have taught you. What you just did is writing three keywords that according to the ASC, has both a tagline (recruiter) a location (Bangalore) and Job title (Software) You may play and/or change the keywords as to what fit you portfolio however always remember that the ASC requires you to put (and) after every keyword. Now that you have put the right keywords and hit enter, you’d be shown a series of sections, one of which is called [People.] When you click on the section People, you’d see thousands or hundreds of people whom are hiring to the same keywords you have typed.
  • 17. Now, connecting to recruiters is important for you to lay the groundwork. Here, you don’t make the mistake of clicking the blue button right away. You simply follow the 3*3 technique You can simply copy-paste your average Macro template or create one that allows you to be unique. Remember, starting a relationship with a recruiter goes long term and you start from typing your personalized connection request. From following the 3*3 you can type a simple note but be careful, it’s not about you. ‘They don’t know you yet’ it’s about them and has always been about them. Example: Hi Arvin, I’m glad I found you via my search. I’m Sam and a fresher, but unique one, armed with (Include no more than two personal traits.) I am excited to follow your work and perhaps when you see this, I’d love to learn from you. CONNECTING TO RECRUITERS
  • 18. Pay attention to what you did here; you made it about them not you. When they accept your personalized connection request, they’d know you are unique. Capitalize on this by sending a ‘Thank you’ message when they accept. Never forward your resume. They’d ask you themselves now that your profile speaks Unique and your presence on LinkedIn is UNIQUE.
  • 19. WHAT DO I DO AFTER I CONNECT TO THEM? Now that you have identified your 5/10 recruiters, please read this; Generally, I recommend not to broadcast you are looking for a job through your LinkedIn Profile. Instead, build your LinkedIn Profile to tell your target audience and LinkedIn Network who you are and what you do. Declare you are looking for a job only when appropriate and necessary. ONO In general, LinkedIn Profiles that say “In transition”, “Looking for a job”, “Career Search”, etc get ignored because these statements distract from the important message of who you are, what you do and what you enjoy doing. In here, YOU MUST have a rock-star profile. BUT what we did is, we have built your network to the 1st degree. NOW you can tag them and chat with them.
  • 20. SPARKING THE CONVERSATION Recruiters aren’t always posting jobs on LinkedIn and if they are, that’s a plus one for you. You can see if they are by checking one’s activity and if they do, don’t get caught and rush to share your resume. Remember, they don’t work like this and they don’t care about you just yet. To spark the conversation with a recruiter, you may ‘stalk’ them on their activity on LinkedIn. See if they have any recent activity and should they do, make sure you [Comment with Insight] type a meaningful comment that thanks them for what they do and they’ll see it. They’ll remember your personalized connection request. They’ll notice you. Remember, we still playing the ‘catch and release’ game here. We want them to notice you. We want them to care about you. It’s okay to send a chat that says “Hey I know you are hiring for this position and I hope you find your candidate” that’s how you spark a conversation.
  • 21. FOLLOWING UP WITH A RECRUITER Now that you have made yourself unique, it’s easy for you to see when they have posted the right job, you can simply send a chat and say ‘May I apply for this position? It fits me perfectly and I have been waiting to see such a unique position?’ By now, they’d welcome you with an open arm. Moreover, they’d pay attention to you because you have stood to be a unique profile unlike the other 1000+ whom have not read this document. You will never say "Sir, please why no reply from you? " "Sir Hello please see this! Ma'am please reply to this when you get the chance?" "Ma'am still no response?Hello sir/Madam? Sir please I need this job I'm in need of this." Yes, you get it by now. You are doing it wrong. All of it. Let us see what and how can we do right!
  • 22. LET GET THEIR ATTENTION THE RIGHT WAY Now, you start being active on LinkedIn, by posting content that appeals to the right people whom you have identified.  1- Every day, you do a post 2- You tag the profiles you have identified them 3-You make sure you engage with their content 4- Now, they’ll notice you, Now, they’ll respond to you, Now, they’ll care about you.  5- Start the conversation in the chats where you know they are hiring and you are a perfect fit.  6- Now they’ll ask for your resume, and they will check you out! I guarantee you once you start tagging them!
  • 23. Recruiters and Hiring Managers are just like us. We all are humans but with recruiters, their Inbox is always filled with non-desired CV and non-welcomed text messages that beg for a job. Remember you started differently. You are different. They noticed you. They’d care about you now. OUTCOME: Now, with every day you post on LinkedIn, and you tag them, they’ll respond to you. They’ll contact and forward your resume. Conclusions
  • 24. CAN LINKEDIN HELP ME FIND  A JOB IN INDIA? If you have a decent CV then yes it is, for freshers though a bit hard unless you’re smart enough to connect, LinkedIn can work in favor of you if you know to get in touch with the right people, however, you can get into jobs that are not exactly advertised and also it gives you the correct reference.
  • 25. THE WRONG WAY TO FIND A JOB   If you have been applying for jobs on the JOB Icon, its time you STOP and realize that you among thousands have been doing it wrong. Pay attention to how many people have applied for this job vacancy in three days. The NEXT TIME  you applying for your first job or Internship from the JOB Icon, pay attention to how many people have clicked that “easy Click APPLY” blue button. Check how many people irrespective of whether they are  fit for the job or not. Just see the number. Now ask yourself, will HR actually see that many resumes regardless of what automation email you receive that your resume has been submitted and all of that nonsense. Just ask yourself, frankly, you think HR has seen all of those resumes? Of Course NO. You are doing it wrong.
  • 26. WHY AREN'T RECRUITERS REACHING OUT TO ME ON LINKEDIN? Your profile does not contain relevant keywords. When recruiters use LinkedIn Recruiter to search for people, they do searches based upon keywords their clients use to identify someone, particularly long-tail keyword strings. Your job title in your profile is not one that matches the LinkedIn data dictionary. If a recruiter uses the title field as part of their search, if your title is not compliant with the LinkedIn data dictionary, you are invisible Number of connections “The more common connections you have with a searcher (recruiter or hiring manager), the higher your profile will be in the results when they search words relevant to your profile.” Recruiters can also specify degrees of connection in their searches. The more connections you have, the more likely you’ll be a 2nd-degree connection to a recruiter.
  • 27. THE CONTENT FEATURE Use content feature in the search engine Put the right keywords Check the dates; click on (posted last week) The feed is now filled with posts Remember typing "Interested" won't get you anywhere Make sure you have read the 3*3 Personalize your connection request. Stalk them once a while! You already have identified your favorite recruiter You already know how to spark the conversation  Now you are Unique. You may now share your resume! You may ask us to put a good word for you now.
  • 28. FOLLOWING UP WITH HIRING MANAGER Following up with the hiring manager is never an easy job. They may not respond back to you. They may see your messages and not write back. Even though you have done it right, you still don’t get a response back. You must realize that even if the job fits you well, there may be others whom are closer to a recruiter and/or have been referred almost instantly. You don’t give up. They have not forgotten you. A Simple reminder may go along way but do you know how to do it right? The 7*7 technique has proven to be one of the best techniques for a fresher to stay on the hiring manager's radar. Now that you have personalized your request, sparked the conversation, a follow up is your last mile-stone for when you see they have posted a perfect vacancy that fits you.
  • 29. THE 7*7 The 7*7 is a two-paragraph repeated seven times over 10/13 working days. Your first paragraph is always personal. Something about the recruiter/hiring manager i.e., ‘I noticed you have not been active since the past two days. Have you been busy or too much work?’ Your second paragraph is a direct request of your application. I.e., ‘I have sent my resume to your email and/or when would you like me to send my resume?’ Pay attention that both Paragraphs have questions at the end, and based on metrics, conversation and/or paragraph with questions has an 86% Success ratio of a respond back. Moreover, the 7*7 has what we call at corporates a ‘Positive Tone’ where you don’t sound desperate and in need of a job (even if you do) because the minute you sound desperate is the same minute where your hope of getting a response from a recruiter is gone.
  • 30. STAYING ON THE RADAR Remember when you personalized your connection request? Followed the 3*3 and the 7*7 with your ideal recruiter? Now that you are different, you may allow yourself to take the conversation over the phone. It’s okay to ask for a Phone Number and schedule a call. They now know you and just like you have done your homework, you are now comfortable taking the conversation on a call. As long as the hiring manager has agreed to take your call. Keep your first call personal and professional. Remember the 7*7 technique? Keep your call just like that. You are Unique.
  • 31. You have stood to be different. Aside from the thousands who have been doing it all wrong, you now know how to do your work on LinkedIn right. From your profile and presence all the way to identifying recruiters. Remember, it takes one connection, one profile, one hiring manager to answer the million-dollar question: what’s [In It] for you on LinkedIn? Conclusions
  • 32. Be more than a wallflower. Be active on LinkedIn, and as Weiner suggests, be authentic and current. Post any articles you write, videos you post. What's Next?
  • 33. Thank you for your time! Congratulations on completing this document! We believe you are now qualified enough to step up and make it big. We believe you can now Sell and Market yourself on LinkedIn. You are now invited for a certified LinkedIn Program from the States for India. What's Next?
