This document discusses the benefits of using real hair extensions over synthetic extensions. Real hair extensions can be heat styled like natural hair, dyed in many colors to match one's natural hair, and blend more seamlessly due to being made of human hair. They allow one to experiment with longer or thicker hair without damaging one's natural hair through daily heat styling or color changes. Proper care should still be taken of real hair extensions as they can be replaced when damaged rather than requiring the natural hair to take styling stress.

Is there something deceptive about natural haired weaves and wigs?
If you see a woman with a great fro and you ask her whether she did a twistout or a blowout, is she obligated to tell you that it’s not her hair?
Do hair weaves contradict the mission of the natural hair movement, which some might say is to embrace your hair?
Does it matter if it’s only worn for a few weeks or year-round?

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Light brown
1. Light Brown
Depending on the color of your light brown hair, you may feel that your hair
has lost some of it's pizzazz. Many times, women with light brown hair notice
that their hair is more of a brown ash instead of a glossy brown, and while
there is nothing wrong with that type of color, if you've been coveting
healthy, shiny hair that will blend better with your hair extensions, here
are some ways to reach that goal.
Oil mask. A great way to restore moisture to your light brown hair and ensure
that your extensions will blend with your natural hair is to apply olive oil
or avocado oil to your hair at least once a week. Although this may seem like
it would make your hair feel disgusting, exactly the opposite is true. When
you apply oil directly to your hair, it really helps to repair damage, and
restore shine. Apply the oil to dry hair, and allow it to sit on there for
about thirty minutes to an hour. Then wash out the oil thoroughly, condition,
and style. You will be amazed at how quickly this type of oil treatment will
begin to repair and restore your hair.
Heat protector. One of the most underrated items that should be a part of
every woman's daily beauty regimen is a heat protector? A heat protector is
important for your real hair and for your extensions because heat styling
tools can cause major damage to hair if they are not used correctly, and
because most women heat style their hair on a daily basis, a heat protector
spray is extremely important. Because you don't want something that is going
to weigh your hair down and make it stiff and gross, try to find a heat
protector that is lightweight enough that you will not even be able to tell
that it's on your hair, except for the fact that your hair and extensions are
being protected from the extreme heat.
Don't over wash. How often do you wash your hair? If you wash your hair on a
daily basis, you are actually stripping some of the natural moisture from
your hair. However, if you're like most people, your roots start to get oily
really quickly, so washing your hair daily is imperative. If you can, try to
extend the time between washes. Instead of wearing your hair down, try a low
messy bun with a side braid in the front. This will keep more moisture in
your hair, and it will save you time. It may also be a good idea to invest in
a dry shampoo in order to extend the time between washes.
All natural. Do you always dry your hair with a hair dryer? A great
experiment you can do in order to improve the health of your hair is to allow
your hair to air dry for a month. If you don't have time to let it air dry,
consider diffusing it. Once the month is over, straighten your hair, and you
will see a definite improvement in the overall health of your hair.
Real Hair Extensions
If you've been considering getting hair extensions, you've probably wondered
how you can make them work with your hair. Although many people love
synthetic hair extensions for special occasion, for everyday wear, it is a
good idea to invest in real hair extensions. Because these types of
extensions are made with human hair, you can style them in the same way that
you would style your own hair, but since the extensions are not your actual
2. hair, you don't have to worry about damaging your hair due to heat styling
and daily stress. This is not to say that you should not take the proper care
of your real hair extensions, but because you can replace your extensions,
you can allow them to take the styling stress, and spare your hair the
unnecessary damage. With synthetic hair, you cannot style the hair with heat
because although some hair extensions are made to withstand the heat, most
synthetic fibers will literally melt under the pressure. In case you aren't
convinced of the advantage of real hair extensions, here are some reasons why
people prefer them to synthetic hair extensions.
Were you practically born with a curling iron in one hand and you can't
imagine going anywhere unless you have achieved the perfect curl? Well, if
you've noticed that constantly styling your hair and putting unnecessary
stress on it will causes damage, then real hair extensions are the perfect
solution.
Unlike most synthetic extensions, real hair extensions are can be dyed to
just about any color. So, if you love to change your hair color on a regular
basis, but you want to have longer, thicker hair, real hair extensions are
the obvious choice. If you love to add colorful streaks to your hair, dying
blonde hair extensions can save you the trouble of changing your real hair.
No matter what color you are dying your hair, if you want the hair to blend,
it is important that your hair color matches the color of your extensions.
Because they are made with human hair, real hair extensions blend much better
with your real hair than synthetic extensions. In fact, because of the high
quality of many kinds of human hair extensions, most people cannot spot them
unless they are actively attempting to notice someone else's hair extensions.
However, you don't want to be the person that everybody talks about because
they can see the difference between your hair and the extensions. Although it
may seem like an unnecessary step, every time you put in your extensions,
take the time to look at them from several different angles in order to
ensure that they are blending properly.
When you have extensions, remember to have fun with them because they are an
accessory. There can sometimes be a hesitance to try something new like hair
extensions, especially for people who have never thought about wearing
extensions in the past. However, once you give extensions a try, it is very
likely that you will wonder how you ever survived without them. Remember that
you don't have to wear extensions that are 3 feet long, instead just start
with a length you feel comfortable with and work from there.
