Salt tells the story of its life, from being collected from sea water or brine lakes, through the processes of purification, iodization, and packaging. It is used widely for domestic purposes like cooking as well as industrial purposes like butter manufacture, soil stabilization, and more. Salt also recounts an important event in Indian history, the Dandi March led by Gandhi to protest British salt laws, which sparked large civil disobedience campaigns.
