Single Source Beyond Text-dealing with graphics and multimediaMadCapMike
For most authors the concepts of content reuse are nothing new. Whether you work under the labels of “single-source publishing,” “content management,” or “multi-channel publishing” it all boils down to writing content once, maximizing reuse, and (hopefully) never resorting to content duplication to achieve your publishing goals. This all works beautifully with text, but various media elements have always been the Achilles heel of content reuse. In this session Mike will explore concepts and techniques to bring graphic and multimedia elements into the content management workflow.
Life Cycle Analysis - Comparative analysis of tealight candles with Soy wax &...Meera Vaidya, LEED GA
The presentation is intended for educational purposes only. Goal was to look at tealight candles made with Paraffin wax (majority of the wax available in the market today) & Soy wax in terms of its life cycle from cradle to grave. The analysis is purely based on internet & data available on software Quantis suit & analysis was performed on Quantis as well.
Cities today are constantly under pressure to accommodate a growing urban population and their increasing demand for various resources, such as energy, water, waste management, transportation, and food. Some of these resources are basic living requirements, and the most important of those being food. According to the current practices, food demand is mostly met by food grown on farmland away from the cities. This creates a bigger carbon footprint due to transportation, farming energy usage as well as environmental damage through agricultural contaminants, etc. Additionally, traditional farming often encounters climate extremes and disasters making it more difficult for farmers to survive. Hence there is a need to explore alternative techniques which can address issues concerned with traditional farming practices, one of such techniques is vertical farming. It is essentially a combination of variety of technologies, placed in an urban setting to help reduce most of the issues related to urban food demands and be environmentally less damaging at the same time.

1. L’HORT A L’ESCOLA
natura.
• És relaxant, ens fa tenir paciència i
consciència de cada temporada que
passa i ens fa fer preguntes.
a prendre decisions.
• A recollir “els nostres fruits”, la collita.
• I fer més habitable el nostre paissatge
quotidià, embellint-lo i fent-lo menys
gris, millorant la qualitat de l’aire.

3. Escola Lluis Vives C.M curs 2013-14
