Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter born in 1907 who is known for her self-portraits which expressed her personal and political views. She studied in Mexico City and Coyoacán, Mexico and is best known for works like Necklace of Thorns and Bonito which depicted symbolic and emotionally charged scenes from her life experiences, especially regarding her health challenges and relationships.
